A young knight looking to prove his courage was wandering the borders of his kingdom when he heard the peasants talking about an evil, horse-headed beast-man hiding in the wastes, attacking anyone who passed by his way. Thinking this was his chance to prove himself, he promptly gathered his sword and shield and went to fight the monster.
The peasant stories completely failed to prepare him for what he was getting into. As came to the stony outcropping surrounded by dead trees described to him, the mighty Umakao Daimaoh emerged, eager to play with this new trespasser.
The fight very quickly turned bad.

Hoo, boy this has been a long time coming. I don't remember when I commissioned the original sketch off the top of my head, but I think it was back in November or December. I streamed the firsst two pages of it initially, but then got super busy and wasn't able to find a time when I could sit down and stream again, so I just finished the last page on my own in bits and pieces.
The background colors are based on those in Cosmology of Kyoto, which is a really moody adventure game about ancient Japan. Then I used a color filter to make the main figures match that
I like the sickly green flame effect that Umakao's magic has in this.. Goes really well with the idea that he's an evil demon who's come up from jigoku and his magic is therefore unnatural.
