Transformers United - Optimus Prime, Darkside ver.

Picked this figure up along with his setmate Darkside Megatron at Autoassembly Europe 2011 in Uppsala, Sweden. I'm a sucker for black repaints and I love the WFC Prime mold, so when the dealer knocked the price down a bit I knew I had to have it.

I know it's probably nothing to get too excited over, but I find certain details of this release quite interesting. Even though the colorscheme is almost directly lifted from Car Robots Black Convoy (F*CK Scourge) and the fact that he sports the Decepticon/Destron faction insignia, clearly making him an evil version of Optimus Prime. There's no change to his name at all. No Nemesis Prime, Black Convoy, Scourge, no nothing. Just plain old Optimus Prime.
