"Elaina run!" The blade of marmora commander shouted as the ship's controls set on fire. Elaina ran to the exit of the ship and jumped onto a cliff where the ship was heading for. She used her blade to hang from the cliff as the ship was falling down into the crater, it was only inches from her body. Elaina pulled herself back up as the dust was still clearing. As she stood up straight, she let out a few coughs before walking to where the back up was. When she took her first step, a sharp pain hit her in her side. A very bloody scratch wound was visible with her jean-like coat ripped there. "Ugh for quiznaks sake.." she said with teeth clenched as she kept walking to where her back up stood waiting. Her commander didn't make it thus giving another reason to hate zarkon's empire. She got onto the ship and went back to the place that was her home for the duration of this war. A few days later, the best scouts and fighters were called to discuss who will go to help the paladins of voltron. "Anyone? Is there anyone who will go with them? It's the only way" a commander said as he was standing in front of a group of 12 galras, all fighting for the same cause. But yet no one volunteered, not until Elaina walked in. "I'll do it..." she said out loud for everyone to hear. Everyone made way as she walk through to the commander who then led her to the paladin that came to take the volunteer back to the castle of the lions. "Kirsten, this is Elaina. One of our best scouts, she will be the volunteer you asked for." Elaina stepped from behind the commander. She was dressed in tight crop army trousers with slits at the knees, a crop top with the ends rough, her shoulders covered with her jean-like jacket. "Call me Ela for short." Elaina said with a slight smile. "Great to meet you, I'm sure you'll be a great help on board the ship." Kirsten said with a smile as she was getting a message from shiro "yes, I'll be back in 5 minutes" she said and turned to Elaina "we need to leave like now, we will go in my purple lion" they both were then walked to the lion waiting outside. "So, is there anything I need to know about the other paladins?" Elaina asked after they got on the lion and got to their seats. "Well, yes. Lance will probably try to flirt with you, pidge is very smart with tech, hunk loves food, shiro is the leader and Keith is a mystery in general." Kirsten said. Soon, they arrive at the castle and Elaina walks quietly behind Kirsten. "Everyone! This is Elaina, she is the one that was sent from the blade of marmora" Kirsten said and moved to stand beside Elaina. "Hello everyone" Elaina said with her chin up, Lance almost immediately eyeing her up and down. As so did Keith. Shiro then came up and shook hands with her and introduced everyone shortly after. "Hey there~ I'm Lance, the sharpshooter of the team" Lance said proudly, obviously trying to impress Elaina. "Nice to meet you, I'm Elaina as you already know but call me Ela for short" she said as she didn't seek interest into being impressed. Keith walked up to her also and said "hey, I'm Keith. Sorry for Lance, sadly he's always like that" Elaina looked at him and smiled slightly as she gave a small nod. "Keith, how about you take Ela to a room where she can sleep" shiro said but then Lance said "how about she sleeps with one of us? She would feel much safer I bet" Elaina stood there about to say something when Keith said "Lance, shut your quiznak. Elaina will sleep where ever she wants, you could for once use some manners" that made the both boys glare at each other and Elaina stepped in between them "Lance, Keith, if I can then I will have my own room but if that's not possible then can I sleep in Kirsten's room with her? No offence but you are guys, and not even my race I think" Keith looked at Elaina and wanted to correct her but now was not the time. Soon enough, Kirsten led Elaina to the right room to rest while she spent time with the others. "Ok, I'll be here if I'm needed" Elaina said and sat down on her bed and put her blade beside her. Kirsten went back out to the others after that. 2 hours later there's a knock on the door and it's Lance "oh hey Lance, what are you doing here?" Elaina answered the door without her shirt on. She did have a band around her chest to cover what needs to be covered but that still made lance's jaw drop "well I just came round to ask you how you were finding the place and all" he said blushing as he tried to keep his cool. "It's alright, I just wish this stupid war against zarkan would end already" she leaned against the door frame. "Me too, me too" Lance says quickly and at that time Keith walks by. "Yeah, I'm gonna get some rest now if I can" she said and he nodded. Elaina shut the door again and an hour later sneaked into the training room and practiced her way. That is by blind folding herself and perfect strikes and cuts etc. That's when Keith came in but stayed quiet as he watched her move gracefully right there. She finished the training by throwing the blade up and catching it again still blindfolded. Keith was quite surprised by her skills. Elaina then took off her blindfold which was something that resembled a red bandana which she tied around her ankle. "You've got some skills there Elaina" Keith said as he walked over to her. "Thanks Keith, I was just leaving if you wanted to be alone" Elaina said. "Umm you can stay, I don't mind" Kieth said and went to set up the simulator. "Alright, i may as well join you since I don't like sitting around very much" The simulator then started and Keith and Elaina fought side by side. When all was done they sat down and talked. "I know pretty much nothing about you, only that you got sent from blade of marmora." Keith said as he turned to Elaina. "I volunteered, no one else would. I have a reason to hate zarkon not only for his tyranny. He took something of mine that he should've never even thought of taking." Elaina looked at her reflection on the blade. Keith got curious by what she meant. "Was it valuable or dear to you?" He asked carefully. "My mother died when I was born so my dad took care of me and taught me everything I knew before joining the blade of marmora. One day, zarkan wanted all the female galras to be shipped off somewhere, my father didn't allow it and protected me when the soldiers came for me." She said that and threw the blade at a target board. "His soldiers killed my father and I managed to escape. I have no living family left." Keith looked at her before saying "that makes two of technically, I don't know what happened to my family. All I know is that they are not here and I don't know where to find them." Elaina turned to look at Keith with a different look in her eyes, a more friendly one. "I'm sorry, at least you will find them someday. I also heard you were the one who activated the blade, congrats." Keith looked at his blade and threw it and it landed next to Elaina's. "that will take quite a while, especially if we are fighting zarkan" Keith said and stood up to walk and get his blade. Elaina did the same and said "but zarkan will never win, he will make a mistake and voltron will crush him. You and other paladins are our hope, one I am willing to believe." Elaina said and took her blade. The rest of the night they spent talking, and turns out Keith was understood for once. "Ela, I have something to tell you" Keith said remembering her statement from earlier. "Ok, what is it?" Elaina said, not knowing what to expect. "Earlier today, you said something about us not even being your race. Well the way I had the blade is because I got it from my mother, she was probably galra and that means I'm half galra." Keith said cautiously. Elaina looked at him with surprise. "Wow, that would explain the blade and how you managed to activate it" Keith smiled slightly at how calmly she took it. "It's nearly wake up time for everyone, you should go back to your room before kirstie starts asking where were you." Keith and Elaina got up and walked with each other down the halls. Once they got to Elaina's and Kirsten's room Keith said "it's gonna be good having you around, extra help never hurt nobody. See you later Ela." Elaina also said goodbye and went into the room and to her surprise no one was there. Meanwhile Keith was walking to his room and walked past shiro's room and could hear some weird muffled noises. He decided to walk faster and got to his room where he had piece and quiet to think about his friend that he made. A few weeks later, after all the different adventures and the big battle against zarkan's fleet, everyone were returning to the castle. Allura and Elaina weren't coming back for some time. "Where could they be..?" Coran said out loud with everyone either saying they don't know or shaking their heads. Everyone except Keith. Elaina had become a friend he needed in his life and he cared for her like every friend would, that's why mainly he was sitting down silent. "Coran! Help!" Allura was there in the room entrance with Elaina. But Elaina was looking rather beaten up with a few very bloody cuts. She was also fading in and out of consciousness as she tried to stand. Everyone turned to them and coran quickly went to help as so did everyone else. Elaina got taken into a medical type room by allura and coran. No one else was allowed in that room. Hunk was talking to pidge and Lance to take his mind off of the situation, Kirsten was talking to shiro and Keith stood very close to the door. After around 30 minutes, coran came out with allura. "Someone will need to watch over her for the night, me and coran will be piloting and fixing the ship, someone else has to do it" allura said as she looked at everyone. "I will do it, I'll keep an eye on her" Keith said and walked into that room. "Ok then, better get to work princess" coran said and started walking off. "Why did Keith volunteer so quickly? Does he want her for himself also? Like come on give us a chance" Lance said in his usual manner. "They are good friends, and if Keith was in there then I would go in, or shiro. It's not about who wants who, Keith just doesn't want to lose someone he cares about" Kirsten explained. Meanwhile Keith stood at the side of the bed Elaina was laid on. "Ela? Can you hear me?" Keith asked quietly as to not to startle her. "Ugh.." Elaina grunted in pain as Keith sat down and touched her hand. "Ela, what happened out there?" Keith asked curiously. "A-attacked... t-too m-many... Keith..." she said his name after realising it was him beside her, she was still in pain and half unconscious. "I'm here Ela, don't worry I'm here." Keith said reassuringly as he squeezed her hand gently. "K-Keith... w-where am I?... I-it hurts..." she said as she tried to survive the pain in her body. "Shh, don't waste your strength, you're safe." Keith said with his thumb running over her knuckles covered with a very thin layer of fur like the rest of her body. Right then Keith started realising that he cared for Elaina, the few weeks he spent getting to know her were just great. He enjoyed them much more than with anyone else, he didn't know what it was but he knew they had a friendship of gold. That night Elaina slept in a painful slumber, the pain getting sharper when she turned on her side and faced Keith, her eyes were closed but her hand still held his. Keith put some hair behind her ear and out of her eye. The way her head was allowed for the other to be revealed and she was even more pretty with both her eyes visible. She looked so gentle as she slept, Keith started to feel something he never felt before. In the morning, Elaina opened her eyes and saw Keith sleeping in the chair he was sitting in. She didn't make a sound in order not to disturb him so she sneaked out to the training room. Keith soon woke up and saw that she wasn't there. He quickly went looking for her and found her in the training room. She fighting with the simulator bot and was clearly in a little pain. Keith ran up to her and at that time she was falling. Keith caught her in the nick of time as he took her blade and threw it at the bot. "Elaina what are you doing?" Keith said as he looked into her bright yellow eyes. Elaina looked back and their faces were slightly close. "I just wanted to move a little, I hate laying down and doing nothing." She moved to stand still but Keith's hands were still on her waist. "You are not in a good state Ela, you should rest if you wanna keep walking." Keith said in a caring way. He soon though realised that he still had his hands on her waist and quickly took them away. Elaina was blushing slightly as she liked Keith's gentle touch. She soon began walking back to the medical room she was in and laid down on the bed again. Keith followed her and sat back down in his seat. Elaina was still wearing her jacket so she took it off along with her shirt and laid back down. Keith tried hard not to blush. "I'm sorry for not staying here, I would've told you where I was going but you were sleeping and I didn't want to wake you up. You probably haven't slept the whole night." Elaina said apologetically and Keith smiled a little. "It's fine Ela, you just took a quite good beating and you're not good for going back in there and yes I didn't sleep the whole night but that's because I said I would keep an eye on you." He said. "That's sweet of you." Elaina chuckled and the day was passed by talking while Elaina's wounds healed and it would take a few days to heal them. A few days later, Elaina was able to move around again and was completely fine. She was walking down a corridor to the training room where she was meant to meet with Keith but she got stopped by Lance who stood in front of her. "I see you are up and running again Ela." Lance said with his infamous smirk. "Yes, and I was just heading to the training room." She said and tried to walk past Lance but failed. Lance instead pushed her against the wall gently and kissed her as Elaina tried to push him back. It was obvious she didn't want this. At that moment Keith was walking to the training room and seen what was happening. He pushed Lance off her. "Lance! What the hell are you doing?!" Keith was ready to punch him right there. "Keith, I just wanted a kiss f-" mid word, Lance got slapped by Elaina herself who ran to the training room. Keith glared at Lance before running after her. Meanwhile behind the corner, Kirsten seen what happened and knew that Keith will be furious with Lance. Meanwhile Elaina was sitting in the middle of the room with her bandana covering her eyes as she was calming down. Keith came in and walked over to her and sat in front of her. "Ela? I'm sorry that happened, Lance is an idiot." He put his hand on her shoulder. "I know, he made a mistake and I slapped him for it. He should've realised." Elaina took off her blindfold and look Keith in the eyes. "Hey, I was meant to ask you.. could you teach me your way of practicing? And you have a nice red bandana." Keith said with a slight smile. "Sure, get up" Elaina stood up and waited for Keith. He got up quickly and Elaina went behind him and blind folded him. "Know your surroundings first." Elaina whispered into his ear. That made Keith have a chill down his spine. She then walked to be in front of him. "Where am I now?" She said softly, there was just an inch between them. "You are in front of me." Keith said trying to keep his cool. "Good, now take your blade and make an attack." She said in that tone again as she moved behind him. Keith done what she said and then she told him to do it a few more times. Every time she spoke, Keith had chills run down his spine. "See? It's easy." Elaina said took of the blindfold. "Yeah, so how about we start up the simulator?" Keith said and Elaina nodded. Soon two bots appeared and they fought with Keith and Elaina. When one was taken down, both of them helped each other and at the end Elaina tripped. But Keith caught her by the waist and their faces were like an inch away. Keith looked into her eye that was visible and kissed Elaina. She didn't kiss back immediately, after a while once they stood normally, that's when she finally kissed back. Keith didn't know what came over him. The same went for Elaina. The broke the kiss and each of them were equally blushing. "I-I'm sorry Elaina" Keith said thinking something bad was gonna happen. "It's fine Keith" Elaina said and smiled slightly. Keith was surprised with the outcome and they spent the rest of the day talking once again. In the evening Lance made a party for everyone and had some music with him on his phone from earth. Elaina kept away from Lance at that party but Keith was there and they acted way more friendly with each other after the kiss. When a song that Elaina thought was good, she got up and started dancing. (The song would be despacito with Justin beiber and daddy Yankee and j balvin) Keith smiled which was rare for him. To most people's surprise, Elaina was a good dancer. Lance was especially interested and started dancing with Elaina which she wasn't happy about. Kirsten was dancing with shiro, pidge was doing something with his tech, hunk was dancing with allura and coran. "You are really good at dancing ela, like really good." Lance was smirking at her and she turned around to face him. "Umm thanks, it's nice of you to make this party for us." She said and wanted Keith to do something. Keith was watching how Elaina was moving and decided to make Lance embarrassed and jealous. Keith got up and took Elaina's hand and pulled her to him. "Wanna dance?" Elaina chuckled and nodded. They then started dancing and it didn't look like they were just friends. Elaina was quite surprised because Keith usually has this bad boy demeanour about him but just now it was like he went flirty and sexy. (I mean this is Keith so yeah) Lance was clearly mad at Keith but neither Keith nor Elaina were paying attention to him. Keith then whispered into Elaina's ear "I need to talk to you ela." Elaina nodded and they sneaked out of the room and once they were completely alone, Keith stood in front of Elaina. "Thanks Keith, Lance is a good friend but annoying." Keith nodded and said "about that kiss.." Elaina then knew what this was about. "What about it? I know we are friends and that like was weird and stuff-" Elaina got cut off by Keith kissing her once again. "I think I love you, I don't know but I think I do" Keith said and Elaina looked at him in disbelief. "Elaina, with zarkan's troops only being hunted down we get the easy job. I have nothing to go back to earth to, I can stay with you ela" Keith put his hand on her waist and Elaina was still surprised. "I... I love you too Keith" she then kissed him with her hands on his cheeks. "Keith! Seriously?!" Lance shouted at him as he came storming down. Elaina quickly turned around and looked quite scared of Lance so Keith stepped in front of her. "Lance, go away." Keith said sternly before being punched in the face by Lance who then looked at Elaina. "Really ela? You went round with him?" Lance said as he took a step towards her and she took a step back. But then Keith got up and punched Lance back. As they fought, Elaina ran away to her room and shiro split the fight. After short questioning and Lance getting a punishment, Keith ran to Elaina. She was in her room with her blindfold on, legs crossed, obviously calming down. "Elaina? I'm sorry that happened, Lance was just jealous, me and him always rival with each other but I would never do anything to hurt you Elaina" Keith said and sat beside you as he took off her blindfold. She looked at him and he looked back at her. They then kissed again and from there things got a little steamy.

Right then Keith started realising that he cared for Elaina, the few weeks he spent getting to know her were just great. He enjoyed them much more than with anyone else, he didn't know what it was but he knew they had a friendship of gold. That night Elaina slept in a painful slumber, the pain getting sharper when she turned on her side and faced Keith, her eyes were closed but her hand still held his. Keith put some hair behind her ear and out of her eye. The way her head was allowed for the other to be revealed and she was even more pretty with both her eyes visible. She looked so gentle as she slept, Keith started to feel something he never felt before. In the morning, Elaina opened her eyes and saw Keith sleeping in the chair he was sitting in. She didn't make a sound in order not to disturb him so she sneaked out to the training room. Keith soon woke up and saw that she wasn't there. He quickly went looking for her and found her in the training room. She fighting with the simulator bot and was clearly in a little pain. Keith ran up to her and at that time she was falling. Keith caught her in the nick of time as he took her blade and threw it at the bot. "Elaina what are you doing?" Keith said as he looked into her bright yellow eyes. Elaina looked back and their faces were slightly close. "I just wanted to move a little, I hate laying down and doing nothing." She moved to stand still but Keith's hands were still on her waist. "You are not in a good state Ela, you should rest if you wanna keep walking." Keith said in a caring way. He soon though realised that he still had his hands on her waist and quickly took them away. Elaina was blushing slightly as she liked Keith's gentle touch. She soon began walking back to the medical room she was in and laid down on the bed again. Keith followed her and sat back down in his seat. Elaina was still wearing her jacket so she took it off along with her shirt and laid back down. Keith tried hard not to blush. "I'm sorry for not staying here, I would've told you where I was going but you were sleeping and I didn't want to wake you up. You probably haven't slept the whole night." Elaina said apologetically and Keith smiled a little. "It's fine Ela, you just took a quite good beating and you're not good for going back in there and yes I didn't sleep the whole night but that's because I said I would keep an eye on you." He said. "That's sweet of you." Elaina chuckled and the day was passed by talking while Elaina's wounds healed and it would take a few days to heal them. A few days later, Elaina was able to move around again and was completely fine. She was walking down a corridor to the training room where she was meant to meet with Keith but she got stopped by Lance who stood in front of her. "I see you are up and running again Ela." Lance said with his infamous smirk. "Yes, and I was just heading to the training room." She said and tried to walk past Lance but failed. Lance instead pushed her against the wall gently and kissed her as Elaina tried to push him back. It was obvious she didn't want this. At that moment Keith was walking to the training room and seen what was happening. He pushed Lance off her. "Lance! What the hell are you doing?!" Keith was ready to punch him right there. "Keith, I just wanted a kiss f-" mid word, Lance got slapped by Elaina herself who ran to the training room. Keith glared at Lance before running after her. Meanwhile behind the corner, Kirsten seen what happened and knew that Keith will be furious with Lance. Meanwhile Elaina was sitting in the middle of the room with her bandana covering her eyes as she was calming down. Keith came in and walked over to her and sat in front of her. "Ela? I'm sorry that happened, Lance is an idiot." He put his hand on her shoulder. "I know, he made a mistake and I slapped him for it. He should've realised." Elaina took off her blindfold and look Keith in the eyes. "Hey, I was meant to ask you.. could you teach me your way of practicing? And you have a nice red bandana." Keith said with a slight smile. "Sure, get up" Elaina stood up and waited for Keith. He got up quickly and Elaina went behind him and blind folded him. "Know your surroundings first." Elaina whispered into his ear. That made Keith have a chill down his spine. She then walked to be in front of him. "Where am I now?" She said softly, there was just an inch between them. "You are in front of me." Keith said trying to keep his cool. "Good, now take your blade and make an attack." She said in that tone again as she moved behind him. Keith done what she said and then she told him to do it a few more times. Every time she spoke, Keith had chills run down his spine. "See? It's easy." Elaina said took of the blindfold. "Yeah, so how about we start up the simulator?" Keith said and Elaina nodded. Soon two bots appeared and they fought with Keith and Elaina. When one was taken down, both of them helped each other and at the end Elaina tripped. But Keith caught her by the waist and their faces were like an inch away. Keith looked into her eye that was visible and kissed Elaina. She didn't kiss back immediately, after a while once they stood normally, that's when she finally kissed back. Keith didn't know what came over him. The same went for Elaina. The broke the kiss and each of them were equally blushing. "I-I'm sorry Elaina" Keith said thinking something bad was gonna happen. "It's fine Keith" Elaina said and smiled slightly. Keith was surprised with the outcome and they spent the rest of the day talking once again. In the evening Lance made a party for everyone and had some music with him on his phone from earth. Elaina kept away from Lance at that party but Keith was there and they acted way more friendly with each other after the kiss. When a song that Elaina thought was good, she got up and started dancing. (The song would be despacito with Justin beiber and daddy Yankee and j balvin) Keith smiled which was rare for him. To most people's surprise, Elaina was a good dancer. Lance was especially interested and started dancing with Elaina which she wasn't happy about. Kirsten was dancing with shiro, pidge was doing something with his tech, hunk was dancing with allura and coran. "You are really good at dancing ela, like really good." Lance was smirking at her and she turned around to face him. "Umm thanks, it's nice of you to make this party for us." She said and wanted Keith to do something. Keith was watching how Elaina was moving and decided to make Lance embarrassed and jealous. Keith got up and took Elaina's hand and pulled her to him. "Wanna dance?" Elaina chuckled and nodded. They then started dancing and it didn't look like they were just friends. Elaina was quite surprised because Keith usually has this bad boy demeanour about him but just now it was like he went flirty and sexy. (I mean this is Keith so yeah) Lance was clearly mad at Keith but neither Keith nor Elaina were paying attention to him. Keith then whispered into Elaina's ear "I need to talk to you ela." Elaina nodded and they sneaked out of the room and once they were completely alone, Keith stood in front of Elaina. "Thanks Keith, Lance is a good friend but annoying." Keith nodded and said "about that kiss.." Elaina then knew what this was about. "What about it? I know we are friends and that like was weird and stuff-" Elaina got cut off by Keith kissing her once again. "I think I love you, I don't know but I think I do" Keith said and Elaina looked at him in disbelief. "Elaina, with zarkan's troops only being hunted down we get the easy job. I have nothing to go back to earth to, I can stay with you ela" Keith put his hand on her waist and Elaina was still surprised. "I... I love you too Keith" she then kissed him with her hands on his cheeks. "Keith! Seriously?!" Lance shouted at him as he came storming down. Elaina quickly turned around and looked quite scared of Lance so Keith stepped in front of her. "Lance, go away." Keith said sternly before being punched in the face by Lance who then looked at Elaina. "Really ela? You went round with him?" Lance said as he took a step towards her and she took a step back. But then Keith got up and punched Lance back. As they fought, Elaina ran away to her room and shiro split the fight. After short questioning and Lance getting a punishment, Keith ran to Elaina. She was in her room with her blindfold on, legs crossed, obviously calming down. "Elaina? I'm sorry that happened, Lance was just jealous, me and him always rival with each other but I would never do anything to hurt you Elaina" Keith said and sat beside you as he took off her blindfold. She looked at him and he looked back at her. They then kissed again and from there things got a little steamy.
