Working on the design for my upgraded VTuber model. I tried to focus on the spirit energy part of it this time and came out with two different takes.

The one of the left is a take on the flames that my current model uses, this time wrapping around the game system and is a bit more stylized. It's a bit too busy and distracting, I think, which is a problem I feel plagues my current model.

I'm starting to really like the version on the right, though! You can tell a spiritual power of some kind is moving the game system and gloves. Very simple, has a cool neon glow and keeps the teal-blue to the orange of the system without becoming distracting. I might implement a very subtle swirling energy effect like something you'd see in the OG Fist of the North Star anime.

Things are slowly coming together and I might take one more shot at the character inside the screen. I'm still debating whether or not if I want to rig the model myself or commission someone to do it for me next year in order to get more out of it since I only have a very rough, surface-level understanding of Live2D. I might even look into commissioning someone to do a proper pixel art version of this once I finalize the design!
