I finally got around to posting a pic of this finished, never talked about it but when I painted this I was in a really bad slump. And when I say bad it was awful, I thought I couldn't paint, I had no skill, Imposter syndrome was through the roof, and the fear of failure was out of control, literally drove me mental. So I stopped doing work, I messed around with different materials thinking that was the answer, but it was a disaster, trashed a lot of "art", and my depression only seemed to get worse. Finally worked myself back up to trying oils again, looked around for a reference and told myself if it failed, it failed. Well this was what I painting and it actually went well, I started posting the WIP pics of this to motivate myself to finish it and not trash it like I had been doing with everything else. It is probably hyperbolic to say painting this saved my art career, but it did in a way, it help to break me out of whatever bizarre funk I had fallen into. So to Cornelia Papendick, thank you!
