Description
One of my fondest Zelda memories is when my mom pulled me out of school the day Ocarina of Time was originally released just so I could spend the afternoon playing it. I even wore the pre-order t-shirt as I made my way through the Kokiri Forest for the first time.
Good times.
This is a print that made its debut at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2011. The reaction was much more positive than I expected.
It's one of those works that I wasn't sure how things would turn out the whole time I worked on it. I actually spent time on two other versions of the print before settling on this one:

Photoshop is some powerful software. It's pretty much at the point that if you can picture it then it's possible to draw or piece together using nothing but the tools provided in that one program alone. The Extended version gives the most bang for your buck. That's what I've been using, at least.

Yeah, I'm taking advanced digital art next semester. All I can use at the moment is Adobe Fireworks and Flash. Still those aren't bad programs, they just lack the depth and scope of Ps.

Yes, the latest version of Photoshop has a little of both Fireworks and Flash in it, so you'll be ready once you take the leap.

The entire time I was playing I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and what was going on. I was just whacking away XD I died the first time but still managed to beat him the second time.

Yeees I use that strategy throughout Twilight Princess. I was actually more used to the precise movements of Skyward Sword when I started playing Twilight princess because I played SS first XD.

Hey can i ask a question? Seems you did this on photoshop, buti can never get those effects with it. Do you use a certain blending/ ordinary brush?

The brushes I used here are the 'Color Brush - Flat', 'Color Brush - Magic Edge', and 'Linework Pen - Fine' from my tool preset package called The Sketch Arsenal.
I also created a custom water drop brush to handle some of the splashes.

It pretty much comes down to cleanliness. Putting shades in with the lasso tool helps a lot.

Are you asking why he doesn't have on his green tunic?
If so then it's because the fight takes place in the Water Temple. You need the blue tunic to get through it. Most player s are still wearing it when they encounter Dark Link as a mini-boss there for the first time.

Yeah, I knew that, I was just wondering if anyone specifically took off the blue tunic when they encountered Dark Link, beat him with the Green Tunic on, then swapped back to blue after leaving the room...yeah, I know it's kinda wierd, but something in me would never let me fight him with anything but the green tunic, it just wouldn't look right to me.
P.S. This is in NO way a criticism of your piece there. It's amazing, intense, captures the essence and emotion of the fight perfectly through use of motion and propper shading, and I envy your artistic tallent.
