Afternoon, our fellow NPCs!The Guys are back again this time around in the Kirby universe in their newest LP, Kirby's Return to Dreamland! Chuggaaconroy stars as everyone's favorite pink fluff ball, Kirby, and his adorable adversary King Dedede and Jon as the elusive and mysterious Meta Knight!
The Kirby series was one of Sam's favorites to play when we were little, especially Kirby Squeak Squad. (It was so addictive to play!
) What were some of your favorite video game/ game series as a kid and why? Hope you have a lovely Sunday, everybody!

Favorite video game series (what was the plural for series) growing up as a child were Sonic the Hedgehog (it got me into vg, very unique gameplay style), Kirby (so awesome, I could never get to the first boss in Squeak Squad and the reason why it was that I kept being killed to death by Scarfies), Animal Crossing (kawaii desu ne, hated Mr. Resetti), and Super Mario (kinda like StH but less of the unique gameplay and more complex).

To the picture: I couldn't Chuggaa seriously before, now I definately never will. Tim looks like a superhero Santa Claus with a mask, just not as fat. The wings kind of add to Jon's "antaganistic nature", as others would call it.
To the question: It would have to be Metroid or Zelda, but either/or, I never could figure out the puzzles.

eeeeh! *glomps group* so kawaii! I love your work of course but this is the best thing you've done yet, i love the wings, the hammer, just everything, it's so amazing and awesome and just, awwwwwwsuummmm!
I think Jon is my favorite, it looks like you put a lot of work into his design, and despite the lack of a mask or half-mask, or a mask hanging from his neck, his design is just great overall.
Not to say tim and Chugga are any worse, I love anything dressed up like kirby, the char is just so cute on it's own, but to see people dressed in pink just adds tot he cute factor.
I've never personally been a fan of DeDeDe though, I think a lot of that stems from the kirby animated cartoon (kirby right back at ya here in Canada) where he was a southern jack***, but seeing Tim dressed up as him, pretty cool, makes me hate Dedede a little less.
my favorite games...okay, that's an incredibly easy one, the Donkey kong country series on the Super nintendo.
They were the games I grew up in, and to date I've probably played back through them more than any other game I own, which scares me for when my Snes dies it'll be a nightmare to try and find another.
in short, Donkey Kong is my childhood, my life, and my favorite series ever, with a close second in Final fantasy games and maybe (I'm ont he fence about it now that I'm looking back on my childhood) the early pokemon games (I mean Gen 1-2, and maybe 3).

Thank you very, very much! When I was thinking about ideas for the costumes for the Runaway Guys, Jon's was my favorite to do. I looked up some other interpretations of Meta Knight, and combined some of the elements together for the final result!
I've never played/ watched an LP of any of the Donkey Kong series, except for recently I finished JoshJepson's and SuperJeenius's co-op of Donkey Kong: Country Returns, which I absolutely adored.

well the games themselves are sort of basic, it's a standard side-scrolling adventure game where you jump on things, collect things, the usual deal, but DKC 2 improved on the system by adding a final zone sort of thing, a crap load of collectibles, and awesome boss battles.
not to say the other two didn't have those things, but in DKC 1 most of them were optional, and in DKC 3...well, the game sucked in my honest opinion, I have yet to 100% it, and I doubt I will since the final area is a massive difficult jump.

I kind of just lurk around and I keep finding some good LP pictures by you. So thought I'd comment and say that this made me smile. I like how you adapted the characters into costumes.
Well I was into Pokemon, but I started liking it during the transition between Crystal and Ruby/Sapphire. I can't remember how old I was... I'm 18 now so yeah not so sure. I've also been into the Kirby games. I need some of the older ones like Super Star. I also need this one haha. Oh! The Paper Mario series was a love of mine when I was younger. I have all 3 haha. I actually beat the main storyline of Thousand Year Door before the N64 version even if I had it longer. Does Super Smash Bros count? Because playing that with my cousins kind of got me into video games when I was younger.

The reason that I keep drawing pictures is to get such nice comments like yours. I love to make people smile, or even give them a laugh, with my pictures, so that really means a lot.
I think the very first video game I ever played was Super Monkey Ball at a friend's house, and was completely and utterly horrendous at it.

I was checking the comments on this page during my painting class at school a few days ago when I saw this one. I then checked the RunawayGuys Facebook page and promptly flipped out.
Needless to say, everyone in my fifth period probably thinks I'm crazy now because of all the squee-ing I did that day.

I gotta say that my favorite video game series when I was younger was a huge tie between Animal Crossing, Kirby AirRide, Super Mario Sunshine and Pokemon Colosseum. My first gaming system was the Nintendo Gamecube, so that's why those games all have a special spot in my heart. 83 Although I will admit that Kirby Squeak Squad, Animal Crossing Wild World and Pokemon Pearl were huge DS titles for me when I was younger as well. I would have liked to have grown up with the SNES or at least the N64 like many of my friends did, though.
