Art update for Chiaki, featuring a more Toriyama style look. Zero thought it would work for the AU crew and I agrreed with him.

Another character to the sci-fi AU I've been working on, and yet another alternate take of a pre-existing character, this time it's Chiaki. I guess I'm just on a roll today getting more than one thing actually done here. I'll admit I was kinda rushing a little with the backstory for Chiaki and her older sister, I was more focused on their current story than I was the far reaching backstory for them. That might be subject to change later, but anyway...

Background: Chiaki is the younger sister of Asuka, and the second-in-command of the Kosagiri Crusher Corps. Both her and her sister are originally from the now destroyed colony WGO Omega, a very elite and boastful colony. The colony was destroyed by another colony sometime after the Colony Wars began, and they were lucky enough to be some of the few that escaped, albeit at the cost of their parents’ lives. In a stroke of unusual luck, the sisters landed on the colony that had launched an attack on theirs. Both sisters were quite young still, but it didn’t stop the young Asuka from starting to sow seeds of her plan for revenge, which Chiaki was mostly a bystander to until later into the colony wars. Over the course of five years, Asuka trained herself viciously and occasionally gave lessons to Chiaki, later sneaking into the rival colony’s military and becoming a high ranking officer. From there, both Asuka and Chiaki assassinated other high ranking members, eventually leading up to the family of the colony’s leaders. By now, their revenge had effectively been carried out. As they prepared to leave the now leaderless colony to die out, it soon came under attack by Galrian forces. The sisters now had to deal with the conquest hungry Galrians, and this colony now discovering the two were traitors. The colony was destroyed after the attack, and both sisters appeared to have gone with it.

In reality, however, the sisters had only faked their deaths and took on new identities. They resurfaced as the first two members of the Kosagiri Crusher Corps, a mercenary group with a few stolen goods they’d taken before the colony’s destruction, including their main ship. They became something of a big name among the galaxy in the five years they’ve been active, and are usually just a call away, if one has the money for them. They have amassed a crew from when they started, including the on-loan member, Ysalia, whom Chiaki disapproves of and forms a rivalry with.

Personality: Chiaki is very by-the-book and prefers uniform order to chaotic recklessness. Despite this, Chiaki is the more abrasive and emotional of the two sisters. She believes in the importance of rank when it comes to a group like their own, and doesn’t approve of lesser ranked people in the crew or those under her care acting out of line. Despite her very militaristic approach to interactions with others, she is not completely heartless; much like Asuka, Chiaki cares for every member of the crew in a tough love sort of way. She forms a rivalry with Ysalia, who she believes is too reckless and not worth keeping around the ship, but still finds her interesting enough to want to be a pilot that can stand toe to toe with her. Chiaki cares deeply for and trusts her older sister, but often feels inferior to her due to most of her life being guided along by Asuka, even now. She tries to stand on her own two feet and doesn’t like relying on her sister for things. Chiaki has an affinity for old movies and TV shows, and will usually be seen binging either or in her spare time.

Abilities: Chiaki is an excellent leader, much like her sister, capable of forming battle plans on the fly and acting them out then after. However, her greatest weakness is she doesn’t usually have a plan B, and should her plan fail, she becomes increasingly frustrated and loses her composure, often leaving her open in combat scenarios. Despite this, she is a very capable fighter, both in a machine and out. Outside of her Vallia Frame, she wields a katana, which she is very proficient with. Her Vallia Frame is another one that can transform from a standard mech form and a fighter form.

Appearance: Chiaki has long brown hair reaching down to her back that she keeps tied at the end, and brown eyes. She has a cross shaped scar on her left cheek that she earned during the Galrian attack she faked her death in. She wears a military style uniform that’s composed of a top and pants that reveals her midriff and some cleavage. The uniform’s colors are beige. She wears a black jacket that hangs onto her shoulders. She wears a pair of black boots.
