Description
Its pretty apparent that I have a lot of model trains. However, I seem to be heavily lacking in the railroadiana department; historic books, memoirs and other forms of the matter. Really, the only stuff I have are the Post Cereal 3" tins as well as a random spike with a neat metal decoration on it as well as a few books.
This book however, I consider to be the gem of the railroadiana collection. It was written in 1975 and contain varying stories and a crap-ton of pictures of the final days of steam all across the US. The big story however, is of course the mention of New York Central Mohawk #3005 and how it still holds up as a powerful engine even in the dying days of steam on the NYC. If any of you are that familiar with it, there is also a Trainz 6-part mini series based on this book. The story is different of course but the inspiration for the series is not one to pass up.
I got this as a Christmas gift many years ago. It did come with the dust cover but it was really rough when I got it. I still have said dust cover but it is stored safely in my room and in time I will find a way to either repair it or replace it.
