They cannot see him for who he is.
They cannot look beyond the surface.
Just like they cannot see beyond mine.
I have it better I suppose,
For my surface appeals to some.
While his to none.
I am accepted in some groups,
Who see me as someone I’m not.
But I play their games.
I laugh at their jokes.
Am I so greedy that I will sacrifice who I am to be seen with them?
What about him?
Should I deny him solely because they wish it?
Because of his appearance he is free,
To be who he is,
For he has no place to hide.
Maybe he has it better?
He is defiantly stronger.
Which is better?
To live a lie and be accepted,
Or to be who you are and find yourself alone?
I have lived both,
Neither seem worth it.
Because I am meaningless
I am worthless
I defy my conscience
And I deny that which I should accept
I am nothing.
