I knew of the other ways to do it too. but I got some pretty effects this way too. I never knew you could even make an orb with polor ocordinates, so it was fun to do this. Thanks for the tutorial.

hmmm, it's not a wonderfull effect is it, bumpmap will give similar effects with more predictability, or of course you could design a nice custom texture, use - filters - map - map object
and map your texture round a shere.
