Backstory:

Son Goku, originally named Kakarot. A low class Saiyan child who was sent on a mission to Earth to claim it for the Frieza Force... just as Planet Vegeta was destroyed and most of the Saiyans under the Frieza Force were wiped out. On Earth he was taken in by an old man by the name of Gohan. However Kakarot was set on his mission to eliminate humanity for the Frieza Force... until he hit his head one day, wiping away his memory and making him far more amicable. However it still doesn't stop him from killing his Grandpa Gohan, due to the Great Ape form of the Saiyans.

Still, he ekes out a simple country bumpkin existence until a young lady named Bulma arrives, seeking Gohan's heirloom, one of the Dragon Balls. Then he's dragged into the larger world, learning martial arts, fighting off a great many threats, and eventually realizing his Saiyan heritage and facing stronger and stronger opponents. Even as a grandfather himself now, he's still striving towards greater heights and bigger foes...
