Description
I hope this is the right category. >>;;So, let me tell you: designing a program cover for a show is hard. There are SO many damn legalities!! The author's names have to be the same size, the same font, the same color, on the same plane, no less than %50 of the size of the title, and no other name but the production company and the title can come before their names.
Wow.
It was a little obnoxious.
...Because Alan Menken is gonna fly out to our school and sue us, right? I know.
But still.
So, originally for posters, I wanted a sort of '50s B-Movie look. Then I realized there wouldn't be a whole lot of room in this picture for information. So I switched my poster and program designs. Plus, I had already sketched this on a little half-sheet of paper so there wouldn't be the hassel of trying to blow it up.
The character designs are loosely based off of the actors from the '80s film (WHICH IS TOTALLY AWESOME AND ALL OF YOU SHOULD WATCH IT). In our version, the girl who played Audrey had long brown hair and her understudy was a flaming redhead... and I'm sorry but Audrey should have short, blonde hair, n'est-ce pas?
I must say, I loved doing this. Not only did I get to be in the show, but I got to handle publicity artwork, too. THANK GOD FOR THEATRE TEACHERS WHO ARE WILLING TO ACTUALLY UTILIZE THEIR STUDENTS TALENTS, WHAT?
That's all.
Program Design (c) me
Little Shop (c) So many different people, I'm sure.

Awesome!
Actually you would be surprised about what people can do for sueing. A while ago some of the people that put on Rocky Horror Picture Show here did a shadow version of Moulin Rouge and they got a letter from the actual Moulin Rouge. Apparently or little shadow cast that didn't make any money out of shadowing (we pay for tickets but it's for the movie theater.) was more popular than the actual one.
So yes people suing are stupid. But I do like the details and color scheme you chose here. Great job.

O.o How the hell did THE Moulin Rouge find out about that?!

Really? We have no idea. We think probably one of our fans send a letter to them thinking they would be honored but...they didn't find it amusing. It made no sense because they didn't made any money out of it.
