The while-awaited Papyrus ref!Β To Sans' cooler colors, I give you a Papyrus in shiny reds, golds and blues!Now, for as much as I love the guy - holy fuck! I don't know why, but drawing his head right took forever to get right. It kept ending up too 'floppy' and unstructured, but this is what I could happily settle on, and I'm loving it! I mostly retained the sharp jawline and the rough separation between his upper jaw and upper teeth, as you see in the sprites.
His Battle Body was fun to draw too. I tried to make the gold plating on his torso look like his skele-teeth, you know? That, and I exaggerated a lot of the gold trim; on his boots, on the shoulders, torso again, yadda, yadda.
Also, I realised halfway through drawing that Papyrus wears a cape, not a scarf...
What!? I look at the battle sprites for reference! The end tappers off (cause it's facing edge-on to the camera, I know, but still!)! It was only after I looked at his overworld sprite that I realised the cloth hung over both sides of his back...

Actually, if you call papyrus in front of Hotland'sΒ elevators, he will mention multiple pastas.

how big do you consider head sizes? Cause either i'm thinking and looking at diffrent wrong refrencing or im just a derpy little dumb peanut...

When I say head, I'm referring to an arbitrary circle size that generally guides me in order to keep the character's proportions to themselves and each other in sync. Their is no exact size for 'a head' outside of a set of drawings because it changes depending on what I first compare it to. For example, the 'head size' I use for my Undertale art is approximate to Frisk's head (specifically from chin to scalp, not hair), because I drew them first. Therefore every character after is based on that size. And this only applies to Undertale. What I use for 'a head' is completely different in other instances.

So, basically, there are no real heights. Mostly because I'm lazy, and partially because I find knowing and trying to maintain exact heights and proportions very imposing on drawing.

I really wanted to have fun with these sheets, even if the only real part of the reference is the left hand side; a point I think is best exemplified with Undyne's sheet, cause I can tell you, most of the time was spent on that comic section!
