It’s been a while since Laurie and I have been out together.
         I’m afraid people will start thinking we broke up.
                   I just wish I knew why she doesn’t want to even look at me,
                                     much less talk to me.

She had the most flaxen hair I’d ever seen.
           Her pale skin so soft and sweet smelling.
                       Her big blue eyes full of love and delight.
                                        She had this petite frame but it filled curves
                                                                     where any man would appreciate them.

Lauren’s hands were long and slim
            and it was so easy to hold her fingers between mine.
                        She has a really happy and hearty laugh
                                         and she scrunches her nose at the cutest times.
                                                     She used to phone me every other day after club.

I miss her so god damn much it hurts to see her in the halls,
               with her beautiful smile,
                            People say we’re the perfect couple.
                                            But who’s the couple when we’re like this?

                                        I want her back in my arms.
