Description
The father/uncle of the fleet is here at last!Yeah I’ve never really been keen on what his relationship to the other shuttles is. Enterprise was Columbia’s canon husband back when I drew the shuttles as living machines, and Disco, Atlantis and Endeavour were their offspring. Then I was like “y’know what maybe even that’s too weird for me” and made their relationship strictly asexual (the three were still their kids though, just not biologically). I scrapped Enterprise and Collie being a thing around early 2021 because I didn’t think it lined up with the timelines, and I was pretty liberal with being historical accurate. Upon further research, it looks like the two of them were in the same general areas at the same time more often than not, so I thought about re-integrating it. I’m just having trouble deciding if they should be an ace couple or just good friends with zero romantic feelings toward each other. His relationship to the three kiddos is more concrete, as they don’t think of him as a father, more of an uncle they see from time to time.
Enterprise obviously was envious of Collie being the first operational shuttle while he was stuck being a test article, but he became content with his role after Challenger and the others started flying into space and was just happy for them (and he got to visit Europe in 1983, so take that!).
