Description
Wanted to do an elaborate kaiju drawing, so I drew a battle we never got to see. I’m sure some of you know that Gamera III: Revenge Of Iris ends with thousands of Hyper Gyaos descending on Japan, and Gamera setting off to fight them. Sadly, the film ends before we get to see our giant turtle take on the horde, so I decided to draw a visual concept on what it would look like. Personally, I was still satisfied with the ending, I thought it was a hopeful sendoff to some of the best movies the kaiju genre has to offer. However, most people were not. Shinpei Hayashiya was so unsatisfied that he just went and made his own conclusion, very based of him. This was super fun to draw, probably my best kaiju drawing ever.Fun fact: I tore the paper when doing the outline for a Hyper Gyaos, and had to tape up the backside.
Another fun fact: The sign on the brown building on the bottom left reads “Daiei”.
EDIT: SHIT I just remembered he lost his left arm when he fought Iris. Eh, looks better like this anyway
