Sloan didn't particularly like riding Tokotas that didn't belong to her; she was picky, had high standards, and it didn't matter that she didn't own any Tokotas. She knew what she liked.

She adjusted the tack on the barred female and nodded to a few other rider's about to hit the trail. It was a sunny day with blue skies for miles. Most of the riders looked excited at the prospect of good weather. Sloan glowered. Boring mount for a boring ride. She swung a leg over the saddle and glanced over at the sound of a small scuffle. A pretty lilac piebald had pushed into a sand roan male. He didn't want trouble and backed off, leaving the lilac female looking pleased with herself.

Sloan grinned and nudged the barred female closer, but not within snapping distance. "Fancy a bit of a bet?" she said, calling out to the other rider. It was foolish to put money on the barred female, especially since Sloan didn't know what she was capable of, but what was life without a little adventure?

When the starting gun sounded, Sloan held back until an open field stretched out before them. Then, catching sight of both the sand roan and lilac nearby, she let loose a whoop of challenge and urged her mount into a sprint.
