Description
Sculpture Class again, this time with a lovely clay statue. I used black glaze, white glaze, sea mist, cobalt, and tahitian (I dunno how to spell that) blue to make her all pretty. Under that she's white clay. The base cracked during the first round of firing, but I reattached it using the sea mist. I had a hard time keeping her upright, hence the dragon companion. She is the reason I decided to do a mask, because we could either do a cast of our hand and a bust, or a full figure and our face. The full figure sounded more fun to me, so I did the mask.Don't ask about the boots. I needed to get her done at that point, I needed her to be as stable as possible, and I was tired of her falling down. Hence the clunky-ish boots. Also, the glazing there was dodgy because I felt like she was fairly dar already, so I didn't want to glze them black. I also added the sea mist because I didn't want them to be boring old white.
I don't know how long it took me to make her, unless a-really-long-time-that-was-way-longer-than-I-intended-or-really-should-have-spent-on-this-project is considered an exact answer.
I feel like I should add that Sculpture Class was probably my favorite art class I took in high school. Or ever. Maybe even my favorite class period.
