Description
RIP Kiki HavivyI was deeply moved by the message from Tara Strong earlier today on her Twitter, which read: "1:30 2day, I sang 2 Kiki as her heart stopped.kikiandami ; u fought so hard.Big thanx 2 the Bronies 4 all the love & support.bye sweet angel" I drew Tara comforting Kiki in her last moments.
How sad to hear that such a young girl was taken from this world by cancer. My heart goes out to her family.

My wife and I cried when we heard the news.
This is a very sweet and heartfelt piece.
Rest in peace, Kiki.

Say not in grief "She is no more" but live in thankfulness that she was.

Kiki Havivy, the brain cancer patient whom the brony community helped with "Kiki's Cancer Fund" passed away two days ago.

Her name was Kiki Havivy, and she was the brony fandom's main charity thing. I never knew too much about it, but she had terminal cancer, Tara Strong did a lot of stuff promoting her charity and personally knew Kiki, etc

I feel like such shit for not telling my dad sooner to donate to Kiki and her family. I feel like I let her and Tara down...

I heard about her right before I went to bed last night. Took me some time before I could calm myself down.
Rest in peace, Kiki.

That brings up an interesting point. This girl, someone that most of us never talked to, met, or even heard about until a couple of days ago, brought out (and is still bringing out) feelings of sorrow and remorse. I love that so many people are willing to be so supportive of Kiki's family.

my thoughts and prayers go out to her family. But.. I don't really know the story of Kiki. Could someone please tell it to me?

theairevolution In reply to Chammbrony [2013-06-09 08:38:17 +0000 UTC]
Kiki was diagnosed with brain cancer 2.5 years ago, and since her insurance wouldn't pay for treatment, her family set up a charity fund to help. Tara Strong supported it, and so the brony community jumped on board to help. Unfortunately, the treatment didn't cure the cancer, and she passed away two days ago.

Exactly, she left a lasting legacy and will not be forgotten. This also will continue to raise awareness for cancer, I pray we someday can find a cure

I know friends who have battled cancer for years, everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disease. Treatment is getting better, but we still have a long way to go
