The death note is a book that kills the person you wrote the name of in it

It only will kill them if you wrote their last name too

for the death note to work, you need to right the person's first and last name written down and an image of your target in your head when you wright it down to prevent unwanted/unintended deaths.
P.S. if you trade in half of your remaining life span you can see the age and remaining life of everyone you me (unless the have a Shinigami fallowing them [have a death note])
