Yupp, that's the canon in Death Note. Unless you define a different plausible cause of death within a certain time frame, it is heart attack after forty seconds.
It was a pretty dumb manga, if you asked me. Nothing of the supposed intelligence of any of the characters would have worked in any way if it wasn't in a story that needed it to work.

((OH CRAP, DEATHNOTE!!! Well, I've only seen the preview for Deathnote... Only watched two Anime, One Piece and Tokyo Mew Mew... and played Bleach Soul Resurreccion, which BTW I KICKED SOME SERIOUS BEHIND IN and beat Sosuke Aizen... when my older brother couldn't even get past Yammy who BTW I ended up beating. So basically I beat the game for him, but I enjoyed more than anything playing in Mission Mode as Ulquiorra, but I'm getting off subject. Deathnote I expect to be CRAZY bucked up.))
