I like how Derpy practically "gallops" over the water in panel 3.
This whole comic turned out very "adoracute".

The idea for the original script for my contest-entry actually wasn't inspired by "The Little Mermaid". I only realized that similarity after you pointed it out.
Instead, inspiration struck after seeing this cute drawing of Derpy as a sea-pony by HareTrinity .

Oh, that's easy, Derpy's great-great-great-great-grandfather's second cousin twice removed was a unicorn, and the Doctor's Time Lord DNA, even in pony form, is constantly in flux and his offspring always take after the non Time Lord parent's lineage.
