I know he's not real, it's the symbolism.
Not "can't", but just aren't. To be honest, they simply don't have time to be.
City slickers are tainted by easy city life and often (to try to not sound stereotype-ish) become swayed to the was of the polluted world's corrupt thinking.
While country folk, *true* country folk, are often worn out from a hard day's work and would sooner eat dinner and go to bed than go to a local club or something.
And before you ask me just how easy I think it is to live and work in the city, try working a field and chopping wood. Pushing paper and driving in heavy traffic is *nothing* compared to that.
To quote a commercial you're probably familiar with, "City folks just don't get it."

That's an unfair assumption. You have no idea if there are gay farmers and/or fisherman, therefore can't say for certain that there aren't. The whole "polluted world's corrupted thinking" statement is merely your opinion. While I agree that humans are awful as a whole, that doesn't mean that there aren't good, hardworking people out there. Obviously there are or we wouldn't have the luxuries of today. That includes the internet, which you use and many *true* country folk would be upset with that. I've spoken to people who grew up on farms and were raised with little luxuries, aside from a land line, radio, and "special" TV nights. They scoff at most modern technology, saying that true Americans shouldn't rely on all that crap and, instead, should get back in touch with their roots. So, I guess in their eyes, you'd be one of those people who are swayed by the luxuries of a city life.
It's easy to judge someone from the outside looking in, but when you get the chance to experience what their life is like head-on, you'll see that everything that you might hear on the grapevine isn't all true.
As a famous quote states: "Don't judge me based on your ignorance."
Ignorance can indeed be bliss, but it also blinds us to reality and enforces closed-mindedness.
I hope you realize (and appreciate) that some of those city jobs you seem to spat at keep you alive and in business. Nurses and doctors earn their degrees in college and work in hospitals and clinics, which are located in cities. Scientists study medicine that saves lives and the majority work in cities. The companies you pay for electricity, internet access, gas, water, basic utilities, phone service... ALL come from cities. The tools you use to chop your wood, sew the fields, fix your fences, paint your house, etc, were made by people/machines in cities.
Paper pushing may not seem like your cup of tea, but it's honest work that puts food on the table and helps pay bills. And like I stated above, these "boring" jobs ensure that our lives are easier in one way or another. Not to mention save lives.
Simply because you perceive something as negative doesn't mean it actually is. I would highly recommend getting to know someone who is in a position you dislike, whether it's place of residence or orientation. Until you've walked in the shoes of a stranger, you'll never truly know what their life is like. Outward appearances mean nothing in the long run.
If you see a guy in a suit, sitting in traffic while going to work and looking frustrated, you might assume he has an easy life and is simply bitching about the traffic. But if you look deeper and had a talk with him, you'd realize that his dad was in a car crash and in the hospital. The bill is high and it'll be hard for his family to pull the funds together without working overtime. His boss refuses to give him the hours he needs, stating that the company can't afford it. Knowing this, the man struggles to come up with a plan that'll ensure his own bills are paid, food is on the table, and his father's hospital bills are taken care of. His daughter's birthday is only a few days away and he's not sure he can give her the party he promised. On this very day, in which you see him looking pissed inside his car while waiting for traffic to move, he's late for work and hoping beyond hope that his boss will forgive him.
A deeper look will earn you a new perspective and more knowledge. A life on the farm is fine, but it's not the be all, end all way of life. It works for you, but for others, it doesn't, and there's nothing wrong with that. We're all different, so our passions will mimic that. So just because someone is living a lifestyle that you'd never see yourself in, that doesn't mean they're wrong for doing so. It simply means they're them and not you.

I’m not saying all city life, people, or whatever is bad, and I acknowledge that most Emergency Response teams are in cities. (Part of the problem we’re having in here in Hyde County)
But where do most resources come from? Wool = sheep = farms. Ham/bacon = pigs = farms. Milk = cows = farms. Eggs/chicken = chicken = farms. Beef = cattle = farms. Fish = the ocean/tanks = fishermen/farms. Metal = rock = quarries. Rare precious stones, gold, coal = mines. All of these are usually found in the country.
Aside from City factories manufacturing the goods we buy every day, all the raw materials they produce are electronics, and chemicals. And even those come – in some way – from the earth’s natural bounty.
Electricity is made in multiple ways in both country and city settings.
Now – another factor – pollution: Country life – minimal, NOT nonexistent, but minimal. Lower population means fewer cars and fewer buildings that suck power from the grid.
City life – massive. Skyscrapers sucking power, grid-locked gas-guzzlers, constantly operational mass-transit, even with very few people on board.
Another factor is health. In city life – sure, there are gyms, but who has time for that when trying to make a living in this economy unless you’re a model? This world is all about fast fast fast - fast work, fast results and fast food. And unless you have a steady job, maintaining a relationship is nearly impossible
Country life – hard work, teamwork with most of it. Slower life styles with plenty of time to mingle, plenty of time to cook food and we often substitute speed for horsepower.
I’ll admit, I may be predigested since I’m lived in the country most of my life. And I’m not trying to say we’d be better off without cities. And I’m sure those that live in the city could, no doubt, point out lots of problems about country life. I do wish curtain things were closer, such as Walmart and grocery stores, but that just means we plan our trips so that we “hit” multiple places in one trip to save gas money. And Medical care is also a problem. Due to living with a fragile, agile, elderly, stubborn grandmother of 97 years, my mother and I had to become jocks of all trades to take care of her.
But please, don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’ve lived in the city for a grand total of nearly a year between the states of Florida and Virginia. In Florida, I worked in Disney for about four months and was constantly being rushed to clean tables, supply utensils and food and mass-cooking food. Breakfast was cereal for days with dayshifts, supper was CiCi’s pizza. And Breakfast for days with later shift (can’t call it nightshift since Disney closes at a certain hour) breakfast was DunkinDonuts for and supper was CiCi’s or something else quick.
Something funny happened once going to CiCi’s, though. One night, I got off the bus after what felt like forever since the street was in gridlock. Later when I was headed out for CiCi’ds I got in my car and remembered the gridlock. I figured I’d make better time walking the hundred or so feet. I was right; I squeezed my why between bumpers till I got to the restaurant.
(And the really funny thing, in my mind, they were still in gridlock by the time I was done there.)
My time in Virginia was much more enjoyable, I’ll admit. I worked in BuschGardens for about three months. During which I was with a loving family for the latter half of my time and everything was takeout.
And I’m sorry about your dad. I hope he gets better soon. I lost mine to a long fight with cancer a few years back. As for you daughter, if I haven’t missed it, I’d like to wish her a happy birthday. My family’s prayers go out to you and yours and hope nothing but the best for you.
May God bless you, my friend.
(The story in your comment was too well detailed and soulful for it to not be your own.)

The one with Twilight would quite obviously be exactly like the panel 3.

Actually they sort off are. Modern Man and Neanderthal are both Homo, Pony and Donkey are both Equus.

Modern Man and neanderthals are actually the same species.
Early Cro-magnon man interbred with neanderthals- that's how subspecies work- and that made modern man. Homo Sapiens Neanderthalis bred with Homo Sapiens Sapiens to create a more advanced Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
