Decided on making my own interpretation of the big G.
Godzilla is a semi aquatic reptile distantly related to sebechids that has a unique relationship with bioluminescent algae. As a juvenile, it predates anything that can fit in its mouth to bulk up and gain proteins when growing. It also consumes a great amount of bioluminescent algae which some of it is incorporated into its developing plates but also uses it as a defense mechanism. It spews out the algae in great volumes to blind predators. As an adult it loses this ability, but it Is able to use the stored algae to gain some nutrients through mutualism, where the B-L algae gains a safe area to produce photosynthesis, and the G can gain nutrients. This isn’t supposed to be taken seriously and is more or less fanciful speculation based on real life organisms such as ”leaf sheep” sea slugs.
