Description
So humanized unicorns do magic, this one is pretty logical. When it comes humanized pegasi, there's a larger scale of possibilities; how do you portray humans with an innate ability to fly. One thing that I personally find disturbing is adding animal features to humans, such as cat ears or wings, especially when they seem slapped on. Same with unicorns, why slap a horn on it when humans have fingers. So I decided to go with a mix between the innate ability to control wind flow and what humans are good at; technology. So here is Rainbow Dash teaching Scootaloo how to use a hang glider.
Oh yea, and Fluttershy is there also, because pegasus.

Another fan of A:TLA and MLP:FiM, I see. And I agree with you.
I just hope these can be collapsed/opened up at a moments' notice like Airbender gliders as well, otherwise it would be a bit of a hassle every time someone lands/takes off in the middle of town...

Scootaloo: "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh, I'm flying high up in the air and everything's so small down there and I'm strapped to Rainbow Dash!!!!"
Dash: "Hey, remember to breath a little, pipsqueak! Now, lemme show you how you to dive..."

That look's like a alot of fun. And Rainbow Dash is a great friend to show to show her that she can fly as will.

I think humans have always mixed human and animal features since pretty much the beginning of time.
Look at the Egyptians or the shamanic practices of Europe.
While I really don't like it to go any farther than cat ears, there are folks who are fans of the whole "man with a dog/bird/whatever head" thing.
Also" nice birds eye view of Ponyville.

Nice. I like it when fanart has logical reasoning behind an unusual depiction.
Being from Albuquerque, NM, one of my favorite memories is watching a convention of hang gliders leap from the Sandia Mountains. A hundred colorful triangles in the air, each a person gliding. Amazing.

It is, it's fun to use your imagination on the character designs and what they would look like.

All right then, but, and hoping not to sound like a d-bag here, it seems that, for the most part, the humanizing consist in adding the hair and eyes to the character to a human "model".

You actually bring up a good point here, and being the founder of #PoniesPlus , I do see my share of humanized ponies. I've seen some fairly bland renditions where there isn't even much variation in eye type and what have you.
For me, it's a combination of capturing a pony's features and picking the right body type, not forgetting the outfit that is pretty much nonexistent in their original design. Granted, you can't see much of it in this picture, but I sure hope to have captured the spirit of these characters sharing a moment.

To tell you the truth, I have barely seen the show, but I have seen the artwork, in the most part because a good number of artist I watch have done some fanart work, so I can't see the way you put their personalities into the artwork, but granted, I have seen your other works, so I can guess that you did it smoothly.
PS: I'm a born spanish speaker, so please excuse any weirdness in my comment.

Really why does anyone draw anything, you get an idea and you decided you would enjoy making it real, even if real in this sense is only putting lines and colour on a canvas.

Well, thats true, and maybe I'm just being too picky, but I'm basing my though on the initial impression this drawing made on me, and nothing else.

You shouldn't believe everything that Spike tell you. Fluttershy isn't afraid of height. She lived on Cloudsdale. She just doesn't want to fly higher that necessary, this is an unnecessary effort and butterflies and bird doesn't fly at this altitude.

She kind of is scared of heights, though, if you've seen the Dragon Quest episode from season one. D:
Pretty sure there are other instances of her acrophobia as well, but I'm only half-awake at the moment...

I think that it was just an excuse to not go fight the dragon. Fluttershy was hoping that her friends left her behind.

What about season two's Hurricane Fluttershy, then? She's been scared of heights and flying since fillyhood (however, she does significantly lessen her levels of flight-fear in that episode).
And as far as we know, she hasn't lived in Cloudsdale since she was little; her home is on the ground and not in the clouds like Rainbow Dash's is, after all.

Flutershy didn't wanted do hurricane duty because she seeing it as a performance. She said it herself that this was the reason why she didn't wanted do it. She was scared to be humiliated.

What if Spike, somehow, is Celestia biological son? On the inside a unicorn stallion but cursed with a dragon's body on the outside since conception, maybe Night Light is his father through donating a sample of his sperm to Celestia. Celestia does a habit of omitting various details when relating events from the past, like how she "neglected" to tell Twilight that Nightmare Moon was her sister. If she knew about the egg, she'd need a very good reason for pretending otherwise. If the dragon egg somehow came from her, that would be a good reason to keep quiet, It wouldn't be fair to her son if he had to endure so much flak for being a prince but not being a pony.
