I personally consider Tachyon to be one of the 3 biggest enemies Ratchet and Clank have ever had to deal with since he was the one to scare off the Lombaxes which made Ratchet an orphan AND ruled most of a galaxy which before Rift Apart, none of Ratchet’s enemies in his universe ever got close to doing. That’s why it’s disappointing that he didn’t do much in Tools of Destruction, and why I strongly insist that Insomniac Games should use the events of Rift Apart to bring him back for future games like the Lombax Dimension game and a trilogy finale for the Ratchet & Clank series, along with the idea of changing him as a character to make him more interesting.

I have also from time to time also thought about what the franchise would have been like if he had been the main villain throughout the whole Future trilogy, hence why I made this. I think it would have been fitting cause the first time he introduces himself to Ratchet and Clank, he claimed to be the conqueror of space and time. Since he technically mastered space via the Dimensionator in Tools of Destruction, him trying to take the Great Clock would have been fitting and funny for his time boast.

When it comes to the story we would find out that after his defeat at the end of Tools of Destruction and falling off the platform he, Ratchet, and Clank were on, he fell into a rift below him, which you can clearly see in the actual game. Lucky for the Cragmite the rift sent him back to Ratchet and Clank’s universe but on the edge of the Polaris galaxy. He would have died in space but luckily for him some Zoni find and rescue him, taking him to the Great Clock as it was the closest place at the time. Now growing up and ruling the Polaris Galaxy, Tachyon heard the legends of the Zoni and after realizing all the legends about them controlling time and such were true, he decided to use them to achieve in his goal of ruling the universe. Here we see him utilize the high intellect he claimed to have from TOD to sneakily contact his remaining forces to come to his location and attack the Zoni with sonic weapons after realizing their weakness.

Now we don’t know how much time passed in between Tachyon’s defeat and seeing everyone having fun at the Apogee Space Station, but I feel like enough time could pass that Tachyon could at least start attacking the Great Clock and harming Orvus, causing the Zoni seen at the end of TOD to come get Clank as they knew he was going to have to help stop Tachyon and restore the Great Clock. Sadly they would be too slow as Tachyons forces would subdue them and Tachyon would spend the time in between TOD and ACIT to try and find way into the Orvus Chamber by going through Clank’s mind. The events of ACIT would have been the same but with Tachyon as the main villain, I could see his main goal was to use the clock to prevent his defeat in TOD as well as gather an army from across time to conquer the universe under his name and to use it so that he can never lose again. Of course Ratchet and Clank would stop him before he could go back to the Great Clock, which maybe could lead to his death or he could survive to come back another day.

One benefit of having him be in A Crack in Time is that we could have seen Alister Azimuth slowly become more and more obsessed with defeating the Cragmite that was the cause of his many decades of suffering and might have helped with when he slowly started to convince Ratchet and that they should use the Great Clock to go back in time and save the Lombaxes.

I have talked about the idea of Tachyon and Dr. Nefarious teaming up , so maybe that could have happened. What if while trying to find a way into the Orvus Chamber, Tachyon literally drops in on Nefarious and after realizing they both hate Ratchet and Clank and that one has something they need to access the Great Clock, decide to work together.
