This is part 6 of my ongoing Pony comic.Twilight has gone to Sweet Apple Acres, seeking Applejack's help to live as an Earth Pony. But Applejack doesn't react quite as Twilight Expected.
Before you start writing angry comments about how this is out of character for Applejack, I wanted to have each of the ponies react in a different way. I wanted one character to get angry, and Applejack seemed a better fit for this than any of the other characters.
She is angry because Twilight thinks that being an Earth Pony is all about farming.
This is the human equivalent of judging somebody based on their race.
Applejack will be more like the show version in page 7.

This page was created in Inkscape and Photoshop. Most of the foreground characters were scratch drawn for this page, or for previous pages.
I've used gameguy001 's Sweet-Apple-Acres as a background for all frames ([link] ). Though I modified it slightly as I wanted to put a shadow in for the fence.
Applejack's Cutie Mark was created by BlackGryph0n ([link] ).
Twilight's cloak was scratch drawn, but it is based on Trixie's cape. I used Why485's Pony Fashion Study ([link] ) as a guide, but altered the decorations and added a hood to turn the cape into a cloak. It was inspired by Twilight Sparkle's dress from The Best Night Ever.

Seems to me like Applejack is more upset with herself than Twilight. She just got done with a speech about how chores and farming are all she's good for, then she yells at Twilight over what seems like a misunderstanding that she only sees AJ as a farmer.

Why would Twilight think that being an earth pony is all about farms? Hell, Ponyville was founded by earth ponies, and has a very large population of them... I seriously doubt that Twilight, even if she went maximum recluse for a while, would do something like that or even have her words interpreted as having done something like that.
This feels like it's taking things way OoC.

I started this before season 3 aired.
Zecora's still only a background character when my comic is set. So Twilight doesn't know her that well.
Zecora also lives in the Everfree Forrest. I'm not sure that it would be safe for a Unicorn without her magic to go wondering around a place like that. There's all kinds of creepy creatures in their ready to gobble a little pony up.
I'm also really bad at drawing. Zecora's to complicated for me right now.

1) because you're around each other more often
2) Because it hurts more when a friend says something like this, because you thing that they should know you better.

hmm.. I understand your intention. But farming IS the earth ponys' special talent. It's what they are better at than the other two races. Farming and probably making food in general.
Even Pinkie started as a farmer.

In an average episode, what percentage of Earth Ponies are actually doing something agricultural?
I suppose that some of the ponies running market stalls might grow the produce that they sell, but in reality, most Earth Ponies in Ponyville aren't farmers.
In fact, aside from the very first episode when they introduce Applejack's family, almost all of the Earth Ponies with names aren't farmers.
Mayor Mare, the Cakes, Cheerilee. None of them are farmers.

ok, but in heartswarming eve they are descriped as farmers and food makers. They have a connection to the nature. It is told, that that's their special talent. The thing they can do better then the other tribes.
The Cakes are bakers, they make food. Ok, Mayor Mare and Cheerilee are exceptions to this rule, but not every pegasus controlls the weather either (Fluttershy).
But there's also Carrot Top (or Golden Harvest) and Roseluck.
