Alex, after the events of Re: Digitized where the Zone was saved and Serpentmon was sent to jail, was worn out from the whole experience. Especially after the lost (and return) of his partner Digimon, he grew a massive distaste for hackers of any calibre. As such, he decided to aid CS Zone in dealing in the hacker problem, working alongside the International Police.

After a while at this, he learned of various high profile hacker groups, such as Hudie whom he grows very suspicious of due to their connection to Zexon and a hacker group who model themselves after Serpentmon's old tech and style calling themselves Neo-Ko. After several run-ins with Hudie & Melody, including a close call with Sakura, he eventually corners "Yuugo" as they are attempting to enter Valhalla. However, this was a trap and Eaters attack everyone in the hub, leading to Alex getting attacked and assimilated by one of the Eaters.

Instead of having his memory data absorbed, he merges with the Eater as his emotional state basically makes him prey to an Eater’s influence, and with Veronica succumbing to EDAN syndrome it eventually amps his prejudice to its zenith. This leads him to take Serpentmon's old Xros Loader that was confiscated in their arrest during Re: Digitized and uses his collection to overthrow Neo-ko and rebuilding them into the Barmy Legion. His personal army hunts down hackers to suffer extreme justice by his hands, Alex being judge, jury and executioner. This comes to a head when he captures Ryuji for his crimes and their involvment in losing Veronica. Thankfully, with the help of Hudie and Zoners, Shademon calls him out on his BS and knock some sense into him. This, along with a battle in his Eater Cain true form, desync Alex with the Eater and is able to be separated from the Eater.

In the end of it all, Sakura is forced to use her authority as a DATS agent to arrest Alex for his misuse of power and harm to others, regardless of intent. Alex accepts the charges and willing goes to incarceration to wait for a trail, which is where he is during the beginning events of Tri...

As Eater Cain, his attacks are Investigation Infestation and Abel Betrayal, along with various level II attacks. His main gimmick is that their main attacks have a high chance to stun.
