Yes and no. While an invite is great, the fact that he's part of Smash as a recurring assist is an honor itself and it's something fans should really look at even if the character they wanted isn't playable.

That's dumb and even hypocritical. It's only painful and pitiful for those who can't get over his inclusion as an assist and see it as a "slap to the face". He's part of gaming history and people can't see that, it's their fault and they should quit being drama queens.

Well, that's sad. It's one thing to be disappointed but to act like it's "painful" to see him not playable is eye rolling. Shovel Knight being an assist is ok but Waluigi being one is SO bad? I get you want him playable but the fact is, he's still part of the crossover event and history as one of the main assists and most recurring ones. It's better than not showing at all and there's others characters to include and other fans to please. It's not a big deal.

I can understand wanting a playable character in Smash especially one's that popular yet still an assist (Lyn) and one that was absent in Smash 4 but returned as an assist after a fake leak fooled everyone (Isaac and Shadow) and while they have potential, I'm still happy theyre at least part of the battlefield at times and they're part of the assist roster alongside other well known names that could've been more but w.e. (Zero, Guile, Bomberman) as well as spirits.
