I thought Daisy wishing to be her old self (which is how I would describe as this is very awkward to exactly describe) was accidental for she didn't even think it would come true.

Yes but selfish is still selfish. Whether it be re-establishing the status quo or making a wish for yourself because no one wants to hang out with you (though Luigi was occupied at the moment). Jerk or not, both are still guilty of caring more about themselves rather than others.
