Description
In high school, Light Yagami receives the Death Note. To evade capture, the clever
boy picks his targets randomly. Evading the Japanese police and Interpol at every turn.
He develops a system, churning out almost twenty deaths a day. All criminals. All those
who deserve punishment.
Even the world’s second greatest detective, protected by anonymity, cannot find him.

The Death God has not been kind to Gotham.
Even the Batman cannot stop the fearless fury of criminals who now live every day
escaping fate. No one fears him. Instead, they only fear Kira.
What are metal bars to muu?
Constantine murmurs about Shinigami, blitzed as Bruce hangs over the balcony in the
light rain.
“I was never lucky enough to get one.” said Constantine, buzz now burning. The Death
Note, strong enough to kill any user of the same race.
He says he’ll ask Deadman next time they meet. If Batman survives.

Batman has traced Kira to a city in Japan. If it is a Death Note, Constantine helped
mark the territory.
On a top floor at a Tokyo highrise, Batman listens to the investigation.
No one can be trusted.
The second greatest detective has narrowed down the list of suspects. One of them
almost impossible. An officer’s son.

But another hunter haunts the streets of Tokyo. And he has a pale, deathly smile.
Out of all of the rouges, the murderers, the despots Kira has killed, he cannot kill the
one with out a name.
The clown stalks after Batman, knowing whatever he will be lead to will be deathly
funny.

Light knows the Bat is nipping at his heels. So the teen dives into some research. It’s
a long shot, a ridiculous assumption. But if the Dark Knight is trying to stop him, he is
evil and must be dealt with.
Later that night, Batman invades the contents of Light’s locker. It is strangely empty.
Except for one list pinned to the back wall.

The enchanted paper misses Bruce, but Death is not too far behind.

Light cannot sleep.
Even though he has Batman at his will. The Clown is still looking for him. He’s already
killed so many. Will that costumed insurance policy come through? Better that Light
have the Death Note the that Psychopath.
The door cracks open.
“My my grandmother, you sure look different.” a cracking, raspy voice said. Light
panics, reaching for a weapon he knows isn’t there. He hears the click of a pocket knife.
“What a nice big smile you have.”

In the pages of the Death Note, there are many spots where it is clear a sheet has
been torn. Still ever deadly, the pale page retains its power without the spine. All the
previous users have had their pages torn out by unsentimental Death Gods.
On one scrap of paper, faded in the depths of Far Hell, remains an odd curiosity.
