Backstage Video: [link]First photo from today's photoshoot with my last costume: Merida from Brave.
It's almost summer here in Argentina and I practically melted with this costume, but it was worth it. We could make another awesome phtoshoot/backstage video with Sevi and Cynthia. The video will be up this week or the other, if lucky !
The biggest challenge was finding an appropriate wig, then I dyed some parts to give it different shades of orange. I just couldn't feel myself with that wig! it's so hughe, lol.

So you made the wig yourself? Is there like a tutorial on how to make one?

I did not make it all by myself ! I bought one on Ebay, it was quite messy ( even more lol) and I styled it a little and dyed some drker orange parts to give it diferent shades of orange

I haven't seen this movie yet (I want to!) but I have seen the character designs and I think you did a fantastic job. And the photographer did a great job capturing you in the spirit of the costume.

Thanks ! I don't know anything about archery but I did a little research before the photoshoot, and saw that in the movie the arrow is always over the first finger. Watch this picture for example ^^ [link]

The arrow is actually on the good side. She is a righty so the arrow should be on the left. Lefty on the right. You are right about the feathers on the arrow. Should face outwards of the bow always.

You did just fine ~thecrystalshoe and Pixar did it right too! I'm an archer and shoot every week and my arrows shoot perfectly fine on the left side of my bow lol. (Not to mention you kinda need your inner fist for an arrow rest when your bow doesn't have one.) Purelovesky should have just said only your arrow is backwards, if you just flip your arrow over that feather that's currently on the inside then won't hit the bow on its release. (:
Anyway, can't wait to see more pictures of your Merida, love the colors!!

Oh you made my day Callesto <3 Thank you ! I've uploaded two preview shots the day of the photoshoot, this week i'll be uploading more full shot pictures so I can show the whole costume.
So am I doing it right with the arrows? I got confused xD And what about the feathers? I made everything by hand and I actually didn't know anything about arrows and bows so well, I tried to copy the photos I saw ^^

XD sorry, it's hard to explain! So your arrow is on the correct side of the bow but the feathers at the end just need to be rotated. On modern arrows there are two different color feathers, two have a matching color and one doesn't, and that odd colored one goes on the outside where your fist is. So it's a bit harder to keep straight on the old style arrows where all the feathers match! But when nocking your arrow hold your bow flat/perpendicular to your body with your fist down and just make sure that a feather is pointing up to you!
But feathers aside yes, keep your arrow on the left side of the bow, you look so great!!
