Remember my original version back in 2021. A lot of things have changed so I figured why not give this take an update to see what has and hasn't changed

Favorite Character: Sunset Shimmer
Honorable Mentions: Rainbow Dash, Starlight Glimmer, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Spike
One thing you have to remember about me is that the first EG Movie was what introduced me to MLP, so that means that Sunset was the character to stick in my memory, and when I watched the sequels back in 2016. I actually remember enjoying her the most out of these movies. She was a thought character and revisiting the Quadrilogy (and the shorts) within'. She went from a guilty pleasure villain (as in a villain so stupid that I actually got some ironic enjoyment out of her) to practically the big reason why I (and many others) still watch EqG. Her development with the 2nd Film made it more gradual as basically almost everyone is against her, to her struggled, through her satisfying triumph and how Sunset evolves with each movie. Friendship Games basically showed how far she's come, dealing with her own responsibilities and how much she's grown but can also show her weaknesses, like with the scene where she deadass SNAPS at Sci-Twi. It's obvious that she cared about her friend's well-being but never meant to go this far and show some remorse and blames herself and the scene where she turns into Daydream Shimmer shows how much she's passing down from experience as she knows how it felt (Element of Empathy everybody) and in Legend of Everfree, shows that she is a helper towards Sci-Twi and can have someone relate to. Although I haven't seen the remaining specials (2017-2019), I think it's safe to say that Sunset is basically the best aspect about EQG (even in specials where some claim to be mediocre or bad). Basically, Sunset is everything (and She has Best Design )

Despised Character: Sludge
Dishonorable Mentions: Spoiled Rich, Principal Cinch (Great villain but I still hate her), Chancellor Neighsay, Babs Seed, Svengallop
Oh God, where do I begin with this degenerate? For starters, screw this episode for teasing us with Spike's possible father only to cop-out seconds later. Secondly, all throughout the episode, he poses as this "fake father" just to get rewards and abuse Spike. I'm not kidding, he emotionally manipulates and abuses Spike's trust and hopes in him just to be lazy and jerk off (and people said Zephyr Breeze was bad). He also treats everyone around him like slaves meant to cater to him and tries to trash the house (the place Spike lives in), showing he has no respect for people's belongings and property, and he shows no remorse for it. He even goes out of his way to fucking THROW Starlight out of the house while she's in the tub (Though, given her hatedom. Most would be smiling at that point, especially after Road to Friendship) All he does is give Dragons a bad name is a sexist towards Smolder and another thing. It's implied that He tried to get Spike to bathe with him (remember a KID), so can we add pedophile to the list of why he's a detestable character and it's not like he's fun to hate on, I just want that asshole to die in a fire or blasted by Celestia to the moon and back. Sludge is manipulative, lazy, free-loading, sexist, perverted (he flashed Twilight [No, not Flash Sentry]), degenerate who is also a pedophile.

Favorite Season: 5
My thoughts haven't changed. This episode has a majority of my favorite episodes to go back, they have massive gamechangers (between the 100th Episode and 5th Anniversary episode with COTLM) for the series and was a season that took the most risks in storytelling by either telling mature stories that delve into topics that for the most part are well-handled (Tanks for the Memories with the 5 Stages of Grief, Brotherhooves Social deconstructing trans stereotypes), has the best use of continuity I've seen (and it has my favorite epiusode to date)

Do I need to go into detail why this season is bad. Watsed potential with the school of friendship plotline, almost character was flanderized to the brim, has the least amount of good or great episodes, plot rehashing, underutilization of the Student 6, Poorly thought-out Twists (especially with The Season Finale) and it has my worst epiusode to date.

Overrated Character: Applejack
I'm sorry. I'm just not a fan of this character. For one thing, she has the least amount of truly great episodes (outside of Applebuck Season, The Last Roundup, and The Mane Attraction) and her episodes for the most part follow the usual schtick of proving AJ wrong and when she is in a bad epiusode, she can be insufferable to watch, whether it's her at her most stupidest (Somepony to Watch Over Me or One Bad Apple), her most annoying (Non-Compete Clause and Look Before You Sleep), flat out selfish or jerkass (Where the Apple Lies or Hearthbreakers) or flat out so dislikeable that she makes the other characters look smarter than her (The Cart Before the Ponies or Honest Apple). Coincidentally enough, some of her best moments aren't even in the main show, some of them are basically her human counterpart. No joke, like the scene where she calls out Rainbow for her incessant boasting and hogging the spotlight or the scene where she helps Sci-Twi with archery despite that she's helping the other team. When EG does something better than the main show does, you have a severe writing problem.

Underrated Character: Starlight Glimmer
I'm kind of glad that in recent years, there has been some appreciation shown towards Starlight. In fact, these videos were released in 2022 and they have shown why she deserves better (I did so as well)

Favorite Villain: Adagio Dazzle
Honorable Mentions: Tirek, Discord, Queen Chrysalis, Midnight Sparkle
A Perfect Villain. Intimidating always plans out, 2-steps ahead, knows how to bring her opponents down, seductive, has great banter with Aria and Sonata, almost has a satisfying pay-off, bring interesting lore to the show, top-tier singing voice. I could go on.

Despised Villain: Chancellor Neighsay
He is the ultimate example of how NOT to write a villain. Has barely any motives and the few he has are weak as fuck, barely a threat until the endgame, villainized for having some correct ideas (like the Mane 6 being unqualified teacher) and is a racist bigot who straight up doesn't deserve redemption. He is a boring strawman through and through. (Oh and he gets easily dooped by a child villain. If that's not stupidity biting him in the ass, I don't know what is).

Favorite Song: My Past is Not Today
Honorable Mentions: The Magic pf Friendship Grows, Welcome to the Show, This Day Aria, I'll Fly, The Smile Song, Hearts as Strong as Horses, You're In My Head Like a Catchy Song, Cafeteria Song, etc.

Basically, the ultimate song that screams "bitter and insulting" that amounts to "We're not perfect, quit criticizing us" basically a TTG! episode (but that would imply this episode had any sense of direction but due to the BTS drama, why should I care).
