9th Reconnaissance Battalion (9th RECON/ODST) was a Reconnaissance Battalion of the UNSC Marine Corps. The Battalion fought valiantly in the defense of the Outer-Colonies against the Covenant, but was ultimately destroyed during the Fall of Reach in 2552.

Conceptual Note: I have been agonising over an ODST Battalion 'Concept' for what feels like months and I've finally come to design and 'Headcanon' I'm happy with. IRL Marine Corps Recon operates in dedicated Battalions attached to Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTAF), however it has been established in Halo that there are Independent Reconnaissance and 'Special-Operations Capable' ODST Battalions (E.g. 11th , 21st ) so i have put 9th Recon in a 'Niche' between the two.
