I was in a voice call with while he was being pestered by a crane fly (commonly called mosquito hawks) and this stupid idea flew into my head.
The dumb thing about this is that crane flies actually don't eat mosquitos. They don't even really have mouth parts, they can't bite. They're the least problematic flying insect in existence, except that they're dumb and fly into things.
