Just a quick experiment I did after (minor spoiler Hilda season 2) Hilda was given mouse whiskers by The Committee of Three as punishment.

As Hilda was talking to The Committee of Three something distracted Frida. But from the corner of her eye it looked like Hilda was sinking into the floor. Frida looked at Hilda, who didn't seem to notice anything. Quickly Frida realized her friend wasn't sinking into the floor, she was shrinking. Her clothes were becoming way too large for her and her jacket had started to slide off her shoulder. Now that she was completely focused on her friend Frida notice that her friend had grown whiskers and patches of brown fur had appeared on her skin. Transfixed she watched as Hilda's ears grew larger as she continued to shrink. Frida was so distracted by her friend that she hadn't noticed that she had started to change as well. The Committee of Three as punishment watched with distant interest as the two children realized that they were turning into mice. As the two new mice climbed squeaking out of their clothes the three witches of the Committee contemplated whether they should help the children or get rid of their clothes and pretend they hadn't see anything.

Hilda and Frida were not the only ones that had transformed into mice. Children from all over the city had been transformed as well. Everyone that had eaten the free chocolate samples handed out by a nice old lady yesterday were now mice. The potion that the old witch had laced the chocolates with had been very effective. The thought of all those annoying children turning into mice had filled the witch with glee.
