SUPER LONG since i havent posted but here is some work i did inbetween assignments. its render week for my 3d stuff so i guess i had some nice gaps of time to breathe and finish off these things
i should say that im not really a fan of anime UNTIL RECENTLY when i got introduced to Kill la Kill. its ridiculous, super funny and certainly better than most of the shows out now

Because skimpy female armor is an annoying trope, especially when it's supposed to make the heroine nigh-invulnerable.
Mind you, Kill la Kill is a parody, but I still prefer this version.

Yeah, I get that, but I still don't like it. Β The very term "Skimpy armor" is an oxymoron to the highest degree, and it pisses me off every time.
Unless, of course, the dudes are similarly attired. Β Which is why I don't complain about characters such as Red Sonja; the male counterpart in her world, Conan, is wearing even less than she is, and at least her armor is made of metal.

skimpy armor is the most annoying thing ever, but since kill la kill makes a parody out of it, im cool with it. as long its not meant to be a serious show, i dont really mind.
i always complain about red sonja, just because she deserves better (because everyone sees that she just wears a bikini).

More than a parody, I'd say that KLK is a deconstruction. You can easily see that it has serious tones, a rich sinopsys and a dystopic background. There is of course many tributes of anime tropes, many references to great anime/manga (JoJo's bizarre aventure, Utena...) etc. I must admit that the most used trope here is the skimpy armor one but I see it more like a deconstruction of it. To me, KLK has some Madoka undertones.

But I understand what you mean by Red Sonja. Β Her armor is kinda useless and extremely skimpy. Β Again, the ONLY reason I'm fine with it is that her male counterpart is wearing roughly the same thing. Β And even then I wish that they'd BOTH suck up their stupid barbarian pride and at least put on a pair of bloody pants. Β Because all that traveling around in the lands of ice and snow wearing only loincloths and whatnot cannot be healthy.
