If im correct , The gems ,, Armor/clothing ,, might actually be a part of their body , so if thats true , then if they ever took a shower , they would take it with their ,, Armor/clothing ,, on . Actually, all Gems are genderless. But they're basically female and identify as females by default.
And, yes, Ruby's clearly female as well, just look at official sketches where they dress her in casual clothes: steven-universe.wikia.com/wiki…
