Flow:: In depth Abstract Render Tutorial for Maxon Cinema4D-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey folks. People have been asking me to create a render tutorial and such lately.
Well here I am. I really hope you guys appreciate this. I took 7 hrs excluding render
time to do this super in depth tutorial.
I think even if you have little knowledge of c4d, you should be able to do this. I
took screenshots of every little step. So please bear with me, for those who aren't new
to this. This is done for the starters.
Nonetheless, I hope you guys find this useful. And once again,
Best of luck, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'm here to help.
Enjoy. PRACTICE PRATICE PRATICE!
*Sorry about the scrolling confusion of this. I wasn't allowed to submit this piece
because it's width was like 16500, it cannot go above 10000 so I had to be forced
to crop it. I hope it isnt so confusing. But if you really want, I can send you the original
jpeg which has much better quality and is much better. >_<" If only deviantart let me submit
the original size. I hope this isn't too bad.

Guys, let me just stress this one point. Abstract artwork is not all about the render.
The postwork is VERY VERY VERY crucial!! I can't stress this enough. It's not all about the
render...please understand that.
Do not create a render and paste it on a background, brush it a bit and call it a piece. Please...
Just ask yourself, am I half-assing this just to submit to DA so people can comment and go
oh joy joy joy?? Do art for art's sake, not for others.
Yea, or its not actual artwork and all your doing is letting some bulge and twist algorithyms do all the work for you. Try making a character, or and actual object.

thefifthorder In reply to WCreatives [2005-10-30 04:46:58 +0000 UTC]
what the fuck? why does DA have people like you?
if you don't even have the slightest interest in abstract art and how "it's not actual artwork" then why are you posting here? You are such a jackass, you don't deserve to be an artist. "Letting some bulge and twist algorithyms do all the work for you"...if it's so simple, let me see you make some? you need to stop being a hater.
I don't know why i'm even so angry, but the shit you just said pissed me off. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, i'm a computer art major dipshit, I can make a character or an actual object...abstract art is a type of art moron, why do i have to create an actual object?
wow you are definitely the most immature 18 year old i've ever seen. Get a life.

Congrats on your art major, but did you even take art in high school? Probably, but doesn't sound like you were paying attention

ROFL, you just make yourself sound like an idiot even more. Do you even know me? I didn't think so. I went to the best art high school in NY for your information. Haha...I didn't pay attention? You must think your "lovely" piece of a hand is amazing...this is hilarious.

i made it in my second week of ever touching a 3d program, so bite me retardboy, "I went to the best art high school in NY" I'm sure you did, thats adorable!

thefifthorder In reply to WCreatives [2005-11-02 04:57:37 +0000 UTC]
lmao...you should be proud? ima end this argument now.
Until you can make a better abstract render than I can, you can just come back and pretend like you're the shit ok? how funny.
I'm done, argument over.
btw, retardboy? from the looks of your dev Id, you look like a huge retard.

So by rejecting other's styles, I'm forced to hop on the bandwagon?
Simply, no.
Stay tuned to my submissions and see what I mean. Renders that have no brushing but have more detail than all of 3D-abstrat's gallery combined.
And although I'm bad at brushing, it doesn't mean that I have to step back and start again.
A person's style is his advantages highlighted, his disadvantages hidden or replaced. So you can brush away the renders' disadvantages, but you still have to let some of the render be visible, it's okay.
-Don't just PS the whole thing until the state that you can delete the render without anything being noticed.
Because while abstract art is awsome with brushing, that cannot be done in animation, and an abstract video, is impossible this way.
(The only way is to do a goddamn good render and cross fingers )
Still, great tut, but the text is kinda small. Maybe you can scale down the images, or try slicing the tutorial into 2 parts. Hope that helps.

thefifthorder In reply to the-negative [2005-10-23 15:34:41 +0000 UTC]
I get where you're coming from. But there are times when you look at a piece and can easilly tell that they just half-assed it.
The text is small because I had to resize the original, DA wouldn't let me submit it. The original's text is crisp as ever. Sorry about that.
