The Impendent is a cult of powerful sorcerers working in the effort of resurrecting the ancient deity Kalypto, Doom of Thunalthar.

This Piece:
Orion is the powerful cult master of the Impendent. While his early life is largely unknown, his closest followers know he is the firstborn son of Asmodeos, the Lord of the Nine Hells. This powerful heritage is where he draws his sorcerous powers from. He is widely considered the most powerful sorcerer in the land, and has held is own in duels against the likes of Elminster Aumar and Gromph Baenre. One of his greatest achivements in the conquering and temporary holding of Molrat, the 11th layer of the Abyss. During his lordship over the layer he created several powerful fusions of abyssal and hellish creatures that aid him in battle. His father, Asmodeos, was not happy about his tinkering with the Abyssal, but was nonetheless impressed by his success in the endeavour. He founded the Impendent cult a few years after making his permanent home the Prime material plain. It first started as a connection network to further his influence but developed into one of the largest non-governmental entities in Faerûn with a clear goal. He is currently running the cult's endeavours and prepares for an invasion of a small northern country.
