He/she was right. Douitashimashite is how you say "You're welcome." It doesn't have to be a slang to be correct. You could also use Nandemonai, "It is nothing/ Not a big deal."And just because he/she likes japan/can speak a little japanese doesn't mean they're a weaboo. A weaboo is someone who constantly brags about knowing japanese, And doesn't. Thanks <3
