it may seem a little cliché, but I would be ok if he had all the other awesome weapons in breath of the wild. however I think they will just stick to having link the same.

Weapon durability: the worst Super Smash Brothers addition since tripping and Bayonetta. 

This got a pretty good laugh out of me. Out of curiosity, have you ever considered doing any Kirby strips? Again, I'm just curious.

adarkerlink Asshole889 - It was simply a joke about how much people really don't like Bayonetta in Super Smash Brothers 4. Bayonetta doesn't actually bother me at all. 

thegreyzen - Well, that's good hear! Kirby is a fun series. Out of curiosity (again), what's stopping you from getting one right now? Is it a budget issue?

Bayonetta was broken in Sm4sh, that's why people didn't like her. It wasn't her inclusion; it was the fact that she could endlessly combo people to high percentages without giving them even a chance to do anything; because all of her attacks chained together and stunlocked the enemy; meaning getting hit even once was a stock gone in most circumstances.

It was like Wobbling; if instead needing to avoid getting grabbed; you had to avoid EVERY, SINGLE, ATTACK your opponent had. Sound fun? Guess what; it isn't.

Luckily, in Smash Ultimate; they reduced her damage, and made it so her combo game was possible to air dodge out of; making it fair to fight. She can only endless combo bad players now.

oh i could get one but im not that interested hehe , i played the classics and it was fun but it doesnt do much for me , but PLanet Robobot seemed fun , i might get that one at some point ^^

thegreyzen - Ah, okay. That's perfectly fair. 

Planet Robobot is definitely a game that I would recommend! It's my personal favorite in the series. If you're going to play just one modern Kirby game, I'd say that you should definitely make it Robobot.

Let's just hope that Link has a Savage Lynel Sword, or an Ancient Short Sword with him. Of course, the latter needs the Ancient Proficiency set bonus to be more damaging than a 58 base damage Savage Lynel Sword.

Real life explanation: It would be overpowered if it didn't run out of energy, specially if you unlocked the fully powered Master Sword.


In-game explanation: Life's a bitch, and the Goddess Hylia loves to put Link through trials all the time.

True, but I always dislike something being less powerful than it should be because of balancing issues in a game.

I think that this balancing issue is partially solved by the amount and variety of weapons you can find pretty much everywhere and almost all the time.


Regarding the Master Sword, I don't know if I would have given it a limited durability. It's the Master Sword, after all... maybe I'd have reduced the damage it could do (15 when out of energy, 30 when fully recharged, and double those values if you unlock the sword's full potential). Then again, I'm no game developer, so I don't really know if that would fix the issue.

The most obvious fix; would've been to give you reason to use the other weapons; which for the most part; the game already does.

The Master Sword is the strongest SWORD in the game. But Swords, Axes, spears, Hammers, bows and magic rods all handle differently in Breath of the Wild; and each favors a different playstyle. So while the Master Sword is undoubtedly the single best option; if you prefer hitting fast, but weak; Spears are preferred; or being slower, but hitting harder; hammers are preferred.

I think with the weapons balanced this way; and the fact that hammers let you knock shields off of enemies; that each weapon is distinct enough to be fine to use on it's own. The entire degrading weapons system (with no way to fix it), honestly just feels like it exists solely for padding purposes. Most of the early game fights become scrambling around picking up weapons to replace the ones that get broken; and while later in the game, this becomes less of a problem; it's still just an inconvenience to the player.

Maybe if Nintendo had gone the route of the Elder Scrolls or Dark Souls; and actually let you FIX your weapons, this wouldn't have been an issue. I actually like the weapon degrade system found in the Elder Scrolls Oblivion, because there it was handled more realistically. Your weapons degrade over time, and it only exists to punish you if you go on massive dungeon clearly stomps without remembering to fine tune your equipment; but in Oblivion, your gear is much more reasonable; and even after it breaks, you can still repair it; so it's not gone forever.

Unlike the glass fragment forged metal pieces of junk they make in Hyrule. Once a weapon glows Red there; it's absolutely useless.

If you think about it, that is a good solution. Even if it is overpowered, it's the Master Sword! Also, if you don't want an overpowered weapon, simply don't use it.
