The Commonwealth of Britannia was formed shortly after the battle of Tarbes and William Cameron's ascencion as Lord Protector of the Albionese Commnwealth.

The flag would completely eschew most former symbol of either the Kingdom or Republic that preceded it.

The Star, also called the Cameron's Star, is a direct callback not to the Star of Britannia, but to that of the Star League and a wind compass, which has been elongated to fit within a 2:3 flag format. With the central circle having been replaced by the Radiant Void, representing the nation's holyness status. The 8 colours circle represent all of humanity, and the 4 colour circle is for the mages.

Overall the last symbols pertain to the Commonwealth's manifest destiny as the unifier of Alfheim under it's aegis, and the central star being a symbol of the nation's descandance to the Star League.
