The indigenous tribal people of North America dubbed this moon the Buck Moon because of it occurs at a time of the year when bucks get their antlers. Some of these tribal people also called this moon the Thunder Moon because it occurs when thunder storms are prevalent.
The Pagans call this moon the Blessing Moon because it occurs when nature is particularly charged with fertile energy offering a harvest of abundance both in food and energy.
