Envisioning how costumes might evolve over time as the characters develop, using Jean Grey as an example.

"First Class" version / Stage 1: all of the original students would have worn the same colors, minimal variation in style / equipment. In this iteration of her First Class uniform, I went with a full head covering / no loose hair.

Stage 2: Inspired by the "All-New X-Men" series where the O5 X-Men came forward in time; uniforms would be mostly black and white, with a third individualized color on the "x" (I went with gold for her, saving green for Polaris). She'd still be Marvel Girl at this point.

Stage 3: They've finished their "undergrad" period at the Xavier Institute; no limitations on colors, more variation in style / equipment from member to member. At this point she's taken on the Phoenix mantle.
