Back before SSB4 was even released for the Wii U and 3DS, I was hoping it had an amazing Adventure Mode like Subspace Emissary from my favorite game in the series, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and when I got the game for my 3DS, I was immediately disappointed to find out that it didn't... I honestly thought it would've been awesome if it did have one... Anyways, I made this pic in GMod with some editting in MS Paint and DA Muro, showcasing one of the scenes I had in my head for the 'potential' Adventure Mode of SSB4. I can't remember clearly what I imagined would happen in this cutscene, all I really remember is that Mario found Toon Link in his Statue Form, and released him by touching, the two would stare at each other for a brief moment before hearing a loud boom come from the beach they were on, when the two turned to look at the origin of the sound, they would see a cloud of smoke, and out would come out Dark Toon Link (In a similar form like the shadow clones of the fighters in the Subspace Emissary), the camera switched back to both Mario and Toon Link getting into fighting stances, while Dark Toon Link walked into view from off screen, ending the cutscene, allowing the player to choose which character they would like to fight as...

So, yeah. Mostly similar to Subspace Emissary in a nutshell.

BTW, after the game came out, I listened to some of the music, and ended up choosing this song for the imagined fight: www.smashcustommusic.com/48934
