Hey guys, look! It's another group application! //shot
Alkasdsd- I'm sorry not really but I fell in love with this group and instantly had to try my hand at joining.
So um, I hope everything's alright, but if something's up please let me know and I'll fix it right away!
Oh, and if anyone cares, Silvius' outfit was inspired by typical peasant clothing during the medieval era, but the way he wears it reminds me too much of a potato sac. //OTL

Also, if things don't make sense, please forgive me. I typed/re-read most of this at midnight. xD

- Scrying: A vision-based ability. Momentarily, Silvius is able to see from the point of view of any nearby tree. Images surrounding the target are projected into his mind, allowing him to analyze different areas in which he may not physically present. This becomes useful for navigation and keeping alert to potential threats. (These sights overpower what can be seen with Silvius' own eyes and therefore leave him practically blind to what's happening from his own perspective.)
- Life Drain: Silvius is able to leech life's essence from his surroundings and use it to add to his own. With it Silvius can effectively heal minor injuries and increase his overall stamina -ultimately contributing to a successful escape. Because it's life energy this ability deals with, Silvius can only drain from living things (plants/animals), and by taking too much it's possible to kill the source. Humans and human-like creatures are also potential sources, but because of their strong-will it's difficult to acquire much energy at all. --> (Mission 1)

-Drinking (It's more of a personality thing than taste as it doesn't take much to get Silvius drunk)
-Being the center of attention (It makes him awkward)
-Discrimination (He doesn't understand it...at all)
-Being taken advantage (People will do it because of how naive he is; but because of how naive he is it will take him a long time to realize when he's being used)

Fears:
-Fire; it's destructive power terrifies him. Enough that he'll oftentimes forget just how helpful it can be.
-Isolation/Being Alone; after getting a taste of what it's like to interact with a number of people Silvius has become attached and is scared to be on his own again.

Strengths:
-Agility/Grace; Silvius is very quick on his feet and is a great runner. Because of this he is also quite a graceful character and can run and leap with a high chance of successfully landing on his feet.
-Strategist; What he lacks in strength Silvius makes up with intelligence. Coupled with his navigation ability he has a talent of coming up with plans, and knowing/admitting to his weaknesses he can usually execute them with little error.
-Wise; He loves knowledge and has always made an effort to absorb as much of it as possible. This adoration has gifted Silvius with a good memory which is usually wasted on useless facts....but there's always something of importance lingering in the back of his mind.

Weaknesses:
-Fighting; It's depressing, but Silvius has very little chance of overpowering anyone in a fight, be it close-combat or long-ranged. This comes from the fact that he isn't too physically strong, has no melee weapon, and a magical ability that isn't suitable for defense OR offense purposes. (Thus far)
-Cities/Urban Areas; Living outside of the tower Silvius has come to rely heavily on his navigation ability and therefore has trouble finding his way through places with little or no nature because it renders his power useless.
-Working with Others; It's not that Silvius dislikes people/prefers to work alone -it's quite the opposite actually, it'd be great for himself if he could pull it off! -it's just he isn't quite sure to act around other people. He will usually go silent and turn into a thinking machine who comes up with fifteen different routes on how horribly he could mess things up for the poor person with him.
-Animals; Unless it's a very demonic looking thing, Silvius can't bring himself to even try hurting an animal. When around a creature/critter he drops his guard completely.
-Communicating with the outside world; Silvius only real companions for the longest time were books. Needless to say, he has very little experience in dealing with real-life situations and lacks common sense.

Personality:
-Blunt; To put it simply, Silvius is someone who gets right to the point. He does not sugar-coat his words and is very literal with what he says, and because of this will sometimes make not much sense. Even though he talks this way it's not because he intends to be rude/strange, it's just the way he's always talked.to himself
-Silent; Silvius isn't shy per say, it's just that he wants to make the best impression possible/not mess up, and to do that he needs to come up with the perfect thing to say! So though he may come off as quiet Silvius is actually the type who thinks three times as much as he talks; it's rare for his mind not to race.
-Soft-Hearted; Despite his rather "aloof" or "emotionless" demeanor Silvius is actually a huge sweet heart and has a weakness for kind-looking people and cute things. He loves to help when he can, but can accidentally mask up this willingness with silence.
-Naive/Inexperienced; Having lived most his life in the Tower, almost all of the things Silvius knows comes from books or is second-hand information. On top of this, he lacks social skills and common sense. This makes Silvius liable to stick out in a crowd because of his willingness to go against the common norm, and, well, he knows very little about how the law outside the tower works....
-(Over-) Protective; Silvius has grown up with the duty to watch the health of his sapling and as a result became a very protective person over things that are important to him. As he grows closer to other people or things it's likely that he'll want to protect them as well.

History/Bio:
Silvius was born the only child of a Dyrad woman and human scholar who were madly in love. In fact, his father had been so madly in love with the beautiful woman that he had stayed true to her even after learning that she was a tree spirit -and seemed almost happy that this trait had been passed into their son.

With Silvius' birth the couple began to live a fairy tale life enamored with each other and their little bundle of joy. The only imperfection in this perfect, little life was that the woman would have to leave every night in order to keep an eye on the tree tied to her life force. Oftentimes she would take little Silvius' with her and try to find the little sapling that was his....only, this would always end in failure. Not that she cared much: they would have all the time in the world after all!
After a while Silvius' father became irritated with their nightly departures and -with his wife's permission- dug up and replanted her tree next to their home. And then once they found Silvius' tree his would go right beside; it was perfect! Only, the couple soon discovered just how much safer a forest was than a city was for such an important tree.
A fire spread across the town. It was a nasty fire -Silvius was seven at the time. It spread rapidly; the family could do nothing. In an hour the wife's beautiful pine was burned far past its former glory and Silvius' mother was in no better condition. Her dark skin was deathly pale -greyed with sickness -and as she lay on her deathbed she whispered sweet nothings to her husband and son along with one final request: for Silvius' tree to be found.

Within moments of the Dryad's death Silvius' father scooped up his son into his arms and sprinted over to the forest where he put his son down to walk and hoped for the best. There must have been some good in that day because it was that day that the tree was found; a tiny little sapling, hardly an inch in height. The father's goal had been completed. Only....he had no idea what to do then.
In the weeks that followed his tried his best to raise Silvius on his own, but more often than not he would momentarily forget about the boy having his nose pressed into a book as a way to ease the pain in his heart. When he allowed himself time to reflect the father grudgingly came to the decision that he was not fit to raise his son alone. Not only did he neglect the boy, but he had absolutely no idea how to care for a half-dryad child!
In a moment of determination the man packed his bags and carefully scooped up his child's tree from the soil before taking the boy on the final voyage that the two would ever share. He traveled towards the Tower of Time, knowing in his heart that they could probably offer his boy a better life than the one he ever could. After all, they had a number of different species living in the tower; surely they had more knowledge with dryads than he!

It was in this matter that Silvius ended up in the tower. The night of his arrival it was decided that he could be molded into a good Time Keeper and therefore a special bottle was crafted for him in which his sapling was placed. It became nourished with a strange, time-less liquid that -as long as the tree remained in the bottle -would keep it healthy, and in sapling form.
Silvius remembers very little before his life at the tower: only his parent's faces, some of the stories they would tell, and a scene of blazing colours and smoke. For the most part he was isolated in his room so it was very easy to remember these small things, and it was good. Only, Silvius always wished and longed for knowledge of the outside world, the tree he carried with him, and who he is.

How did you find us?: I actually stalk watch Tobi, and when he started to post art for this group I became intrigued. So, I read the journals and got working on an application right away.

Script Example: Silvius: *Sitting alone on the land of a Jian farmer, he smiled. This was the first time in ages he had felt at peace, and now he could appreciate the escape from the tower. It had been only a few hours -or at least, that's what it had felt like- since he had woken up in that tavern with that strange note. The same strange note that he was now re-reading for the fourth time.* A man in green....I wonder who that could be. This is going to be a challenge.
Paragraph Example: Silvius sat calmly and eyed the note once more before stuffing it back into his pocket now allowing his eyes the time to drink up the beautiful green landscape. There were easily a hundred words he could have used to describe the scene; only, now wasn't the time. Voices sounded in the distance. He threw on Veran's cloak -though Silvius supposed that for the time being it was his-and hid as much of his face as possible before turning to walk away from where the people were coming. "I've hardly spent any time outside of the tower," Silvius muttered to himself, keeping with a steady, inconspicuous stride, "it's be a shame to get caught so soon."
