If you had to give the story behind the extract, what would the plot be?

So... The scenario I had in my head is that these two recently met, like a week previously. They are off travelling to towns other places doing some investigating of strange events. Word is there has been a resurgence of this really malicious cult (themichaelmacrae.deviantart.co⦠) that goes about doing nasty things! Oh no! So This girl was called to come over from France to help with the investigation which This dude was leading. She has had some experience with dealing with it's savage followers many years ago so they thought she could help. Fyi she looks young but is well over 100 years old at this point. He is also much older than he looks. They were being chauffeured about with a third companion. In the middle of the road they find a woman hunched over seemingly crying. The driver gets out to investigate, the woman stands up and snaps his neck like a toothpick. Ouch! out of the woods comes sprinting three more cultists, one of them lunges and knocks the automobile on its side. They reach in and throw the two out and so begins a gnarly brawl between the two of them and 4 of these cultists. 2 of the cultists are killed and the other two (who make it obvious they are the alphas) slip off back into the woods leaving our heros a bit flabbergasted.
