So ever since Pikmin 4 came out, i've seen a lot of people up an arms about how it "retcons" the previous 3 games.

...I don't really know why "retcon" seems to be the popular opinions when the developers have stated that it's up to you to decide where this game fits. (Which i frankly find to be a bit of a cop-out but...oh well....)

...So here's my take. Pikmin 4 is an alternate timeline. This pcture right here is the timeline where olimar overlooks Moss during his first crash landing and everything plays out as they do in Pikmin 1-3.
